Job summary

SBM Management Services, LP seeks a Custodian to maintain cleanliness and sanitation across assigned areas. The role requires following daily schedules and safety policies while performing routine janitorial tasks and hazardous waste handling as needed.

The ideal candidate can operate cleaning equipment, work in a team, and respond professionally to supervision and customers. Shifts run Monday–Friday with competitive hourly pay.

Qualifications

• No specific education requirement.
• 3–6 months training or experience preferred; or equivalent.
• May require a valid driver's license and safety training certification.
• Bilingual a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform janitorial duties.
• Follow the daily schedule.
• Handle hazardous waste tasks including collection, classification, labeling.
• Operate motorized cleaning equipment.
• Maintain daily upkeep of assigned area.
• Report incidents and hazards to supervisor.
• Follow safety rules and procedures.
• Work in a team with others.
• Perform repetitive tasks.
• Keep work areas clean.
• Follow all company protocols and rules.
• Take direction from supervision.
• Communicate professionally with leads, coworkers, and customers.
• Fill in during staff shortages.
• Assist shift lead with punch-list items.
• Use required PPE.
• Present a professional appearance and conduct.
• Support customer service and satisfaction.
• Understand reporting systems and environment.

Job Overview

The Custodian is responsible for the cleanliness and sanitation of all areas assigned.

Roles & Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully and safely, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned.

• Perform janitorial duties


• Perform all duties listed on the daily schedule


• Perform Hazardous Waste responsibilities including collecting, classifying, sorting, storing, shipping and receiving, labeling, cleaning, recycling, packaging of special and hazardous waste.


• Operate motorized cleaning equipment


• Maintain daily upkeep of assigned area


• Report incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor


• Comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures


• Stop at risk behavior of others and self


• Perform work assignments in a team with other employees


• Perform repetitive tasks


• Maintain clean work area


• Follow all protocols, company procedures, policies, and rules


• Take direction and respond to supervision


• Talk with lead, supervisor, co-workers, managers, and customers in a professional manner


• Fill in during staff shortage


• Support shift lead in completing punch-list items


• Use proper personal protective equipment


• Present a professional appearance and conduct


• Understand customer service and satisfaction

Qualification

Education and/ or Experience: No specific education requirement, 3-6 months training or experience preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: May be required to have a valid driver's license. Completed all safety and task training certification. May be required to be forklift certified.

Bilingual a plus

• Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents


• Strong verbal and written communication skills


• Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment and willing to share with team


• Knowledge of the upkeep and care of the cleaning equipment


• Knowledge of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, efficient use

• $15.50-$16.50 per hour
