Job summary

SBM Management Services, LP in Haw River, NC seeks a Custodian to maintain high standards of cleanliness and sanitation across assigned areas. You will perform janitorial duties, operate cleaning equipment, and adhere to safety policies while delivering professional service to customers.

The role requires basic training or experience (3–6 months), strong communication skills, and the ability to work as part of a team. Valid driver's license may be required for site travel.

Qualifications

• Must be able to drive to multiple sites if required.

Responsibilities

• Perform janitorial duties and daily cleaning tasks.
• Operate motorized cleaning equipment as needed.
• Follow schedules, protocols, and safety policies.
• Report incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor.
• Maintain a professional appearance and conduct.
• Support shift lead with punch-list items and staff coverage.
• Possess knowledge of cleaning chemicals and PPE usage.

Job Overview

The Custodian is responsible for the cleanliness and sanitation of all areas assigned.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform janitorial duties
• Perform all duties listed on the daily schedule
• Perform Hazardous Waste responsibilities including collecting, classifying, sorting, storing, shipping and receiving, labeling, cleaning, recycling, packaging of special and hazardous waste.
• Operate motorized cleaning equipment
• Maintain daily upkeep of assigned area
• Report incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor
• Comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures
• Stop at risk behavior of others and self
• Perform work assignments in a team with other employees
• Perform repetitive tasks
• Maintain clean work area
• Follow all protocols, company procedures, policies, and rules
• Take direction and respond to supervision
• Talk with lead, supervisor, co-workers, managers, and customers in a professional manner
• Fill in during staff shortage
• Support shift lead in completing punch-list items
• Use proper personal protective equipment
• Present a professional appearance and conduct
• Understand customer service and satisfaction
• The ability to drive to various work locations, customer sites, or company facilities may be necessary to perform the essential functions of this position.
• Understand reporting systems, and of the environment

• Education and/ or Experience: No specific education requirement, 3-6 months training or experience preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Certificates, Licences, Registrations: A valid driver's license may be required for this position based on business needs. Employees required to drive as part of their job duties must maintain an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) and meet company driving eligibility requirements. Completed all safety and task training certification. May be required to be forklift certified.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Bilingual a plus
• Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment and willing to share with team
• Knowledge of the upkeep and care of the cleaning equipment
• Knowledge of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, efficient use

Monday-Friday 6:00AM-2:30PM

Sunday - Thursday : 9:00pm - 5:30am

$14.50-$15.50 per hour
