Job summary

Chugach Government Solutions, Fallon Nevada, is seeking a dedicated custodian to maintain clean facilities for the Child Development Center and other contracted sites. The role involves routine cleaning, waste removal, and floor care to meet contractual standards.

The ideal candidate will have housekeeping experience, the ability to follow written and oral instructions, and a valid driver’s license. OSHA 10 certification and background checks are required prior to start date.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Service, clean and replenish supplies in restrooms, breakrooms and common areas.
• Gather and empty trash.
• Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming.
• Follow procedures for chemical cleaners and power equipment to protect floors and fixtures.
• Strip, seal, finish, and polish floors.
• Shampoo carpets.
• Requisition supplies or equipment needed for cleaning duties.
• Clean windows, glass partitions, or mirrors with cleaners.

Job Overview

Keep buildings in clean and orderly condition. Perform heavy cleaning duties, such as cleaning floors, shampooing rugs, washing walls and glass, and removing rubbish. Perform services in facilities per contractual requirements.

Responsibilities

Essential Job Duties:

• Service, clean and replenish supplies in restrooms, breakrooms and common areas.
• Gather and empty trash.
• Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming.
• Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
• Strip, seal, finish, and polish floors.
• Shampoo carpets.
• Requisition supplies or equipment needed for cleaning duties.
• Clean windows, glass partitions, or mirrors, using cleaners, sponges, or squeegees.
• Provide services while being aware of work environment, i.e., not interfering with personnel working in areas being serviced.
• Perform other duties as required.
• Knowledge of cleaning agents and their safety date sheets.

Job Requirements

Mandatory:

• Pre-employment physical examination

• Must be able to comprehend oral instructions and follow written instructions as provided on daily work sheets.
• Possess an OSHA 10 card or have the ability to get one within the first 90 days of employment.

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Must be able to comprehend, read, speak and write proficiently in the English language.
• Ability to deal with a variety of people in a professional and courteous manner in diversified situations.
• Good interpersonal skills and able to work well in a team environment.

Working Conditions:

• Bending, stooping, twisting, reaching, carrying, and manipulating awkward objects, repetitive motions.
• Work hours are subject to change, with overtime, shift and/or weekend work as needed.
• Subject to hazards that may cause personal bodily harm; diseases, cuts, bruises, burns, common colds, influenza, dust odors and elevated noise levels.
• Work environment involves exposure to inclement weather examples – rain, snow, ice, wind, extreme temperatures, unpleasant odors and loud sounds.
• Drive company vehicle
• Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision.
• Tasks may be performed on uneven, inclined, hard, and soft-carpeted floors and pavement, cement structures and surfaces.

Physical Requirements:

• Standing, walking, pushing, pulling up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to climb stairs and ladders as required.
