Job summary

East Lyme Public Schools is seeking an elementary school custodian for Niantic Center School. This part-time evening role focuses on building cleanliness, daily maintenance, and timely operations to keep the school ready for the next day.

Shift is Monday through Friday, 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM. This is a union position under Local 1303-187 AFSCME; overtime may be available for events. Essential personnel must be present during emergencies to ensure the school can operate.

• Work the evening shift: Monday through Friday, 6:00 PM–10:00 PM.
• Be an essential personnel member during emergencies and inclement weather to keep the school ready.

Union position. Pay and benefits subject to collective bargaining agreement. Occasional mandatory overtime for special events and other non-mandatory overtime opportunities shared among staff for events or to cover for absent co-workers. This is an essential personnel position who needs to be present at the workplace during emergencies and inclement weather events, such as snow and ice, to ensure the school can open for business.
