Job summary

Pacific West Site Services, Inc. is seeking a Custodian to maintain cleanliness and sanitation across assigned facilities in the Conroe area. You will perform janitorial tasks, operate cleaning equipment, and ensure safe, orderly workplaces in collaboration with a team.

Responsibilities include following daily schedules, handling hazardous waste duties as required, reporting hazards, and upholding SBM safety rules while providing professional service to customers and site leadership.

Qualifications

• No formal education requirement; 3-6 months training or experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license may be required depending on site.
• Forklift certification may be required for some assignments.
• Bilingual abilities are a plus; strong communication needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform janitorial duties and daily schedule tasks.
• Operate motorized cleaning equipment safely.
• Hazardous waste handling: collecting, classifying, shipping, labeling.
• Maintain and report on cleanliness of assigned areas.
• Follow safety rules and company procedures.
• Communicate professionally with supervisors, leads, and customers.
• Support team with shift duties and punching items from checklists.
• Adhere to PPE usage and professional appearance requirements.

Job Overview

The Custodian is responsible for the cleanliness and sanitation of all areas assigned.

Roles & Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully and safely, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned.

• Perform janitorial duties
• Perform all duties listed on the daily schedule
• Perform Hazardous Waste responsibilities including collecting, classifying, sorting, storing, shipping and receiving, labeling, cleaning, recycling, packaging of special and hazardous waste.
• Operate motorized cleaning equipment
• Maintain daily upkeep of assigned area
• Report incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor
• Comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures
• Stop at risk behavior of others and self
• Perform work assignments in a team with other employees
• Perform repetitive tasks
• Maintain clean work area
• Follow all protocols, company procedures, policies, and rules
• Take direction and respond to supervision
• Talk with lead, supervisor, co-workers, managers, and customers in a professional manner
• Fill in during staff shortage
• Support shift lead in completing punch-list items
• Use proper personal protective equipment
• Present a professional appearance and conduct
• Understand customer service and satisfaction
• The ability to drive to various work locations, customer sites, or company facilities may be necessary to perform the essential functions of this position.
• Understand reporting systems, and of the environment

Education and/ or Experience: No specific education requirement, 3-6 months training or experience preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

A valid driver's license may be required for this position based on business needs. Employees required to drive as part of their job duties must maintain an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) and meet company driving eligibility requirements.

Completed all safety and task training certification.

May be required to be forklift certified.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Bilingual a plus

Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment and willing to share with team

Knowledge of the upkeep and care of the cleaning equipment

Knowledge of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, efficient use

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

$15-$16 per hour
