Under the general direction of the Custodial Crew Manager, the Custodian provides general cleaning and custodial care and support for assigned campus buildings, facilities, structures and adjacent areas and/or portions thereof, including, but not limited to, campus offices, classrooms, science laboratories, art rooms, auditoriums, gymnasiums, locker rooms, health and child care centers, student residences, patios, entryways, walkways, and workshops. Custodial staff may work independently or as part of a custodial team.
The Maintenance & Operations unit of Facilities Development & Operations provides maintenance and operations services to a university campus spread across multiple sites comprised of 167 acres, 85 buildings, and more than six million gross square feet. The Custodial Services Unit is comprised of five graveyard shift crews, one swing crew, and one day crew, with eight managers, six leads, and one hundred and eleven total custodians.
A valid driver's license is required for this position. Out of state candidates selected for the position must obtain a State of California driver's license within 10 days of hire in accordance with the California Department of Motor Vehicles regulations. Once hired the employee must successfully complete the Defensive Driver Training Program provided by the State of California for California State University campuses.

Anticipated Hiring: $3,747/month (Step 5)
CSU Salary Range: $3,461/month - $4,752/month (Step 1 – Step 20)
