SBM Management Services, LP is looking for a Custodian in Boston, MA, responsible for the cleanliness and sanitation of assigned areas. Key responsibilities include operating cleaning equipment, complying with safety protocols, and working as part of a team.

Job Overview

The Custodian is responsible for the cleanliness and sanitation of all areas assigned.

Roles & Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully and safely, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned.

• Perform all duties listed on the daily schedule
• Perform Hazardous Waste responsibilities including collecting, classifying, sorting, storing, shipping and receiving, labeling, cleaning, recycling, packaging of special and hazardous waste.
• Operate motorized cleaning equipment
• Maintain daily upkeep of assigned area
• Report incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor
• Comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures
• Stop at risk behavior of others and self
• Perform work assignments in a team with other employees
• Maintain clean work area
• Follow all protocols, company procedures, policies, and rules
• Take direction and respond to supervision
• Talk with lead, supervisor, co-workers, managers, and customers in a professional manner
• Fill in during staff shortage
• Support shift lead in completing punch-list items
• Use proper personal protective equipment
• Present a professional appearance and conduct
• Understand customer service and satisfaction
• Understand reporting systems, and of the environment

• Education and/or Experience: No specific education requirement, 3-6 months training or experience preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: May be required to have a valid driver's license. Completed all safety and task training certification. May be required to be forklift certified.
• Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities: Bilingual a plus; Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents; Strong verbal and written communication skills; Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment and willing to share with team; Knowledge of the upkeep and care of the cleaning equipment; Knowledge of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, efficient use.

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
