Job summary

Total Staffing Solutions, powered by TTR, is seeking a dependable Custodian to support warehouse operations by maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary work environment.

This role performs a variety of custodial duties across the facility while following all safety guidelines and company procedures. The position is full-time on 2nd shift in Bolingbrook, IL, with pay at $17.00 per hour and $17.50 per hour for the 2nd shift. Overtime may be available.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year custodial or janitorial experience.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and safety.

Responsibilities

• Clean and disinfect restrooms, floors, toilets, sinks, and fixtures.
• Replenish toilet paper, towels and soap.
• Clean and sanitize lunchrooms and common areas.
• Dust furniture and remove fingerprints from surfaces.
• Polish stainless steel and chrome surfaces.
• Empty trash and maintain cleanliness across the facility.
• Sweep, mop, scrub and buff floors.
• Follow safety policies and work instructions.
• Work overtime, extended hours, and weekends as needed.

Position Summary

Total Staffing Solutions (Powered by TTR) is seeking a dependable and hardworking Custodian to support warehouse operations by maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary work environment. This position is responsible for performing a variety of custodial and general cleaning duties throughout the facility while following all safety guidelines and company procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Clean and disinfect restrooms, including floors, toilets, sinks, countertops, fixtures, mirrors, and dispensers.
• Replenish toilet paper, paper towels, and soap supplies as needed.
• Clean and sanitize lunchroom tables, chairs, floors, and common areas.
• Dust furniture and fixtures and remove fingerprints from walls, doors, hardware, and glass surfaces.
• Clean and polish stainless steel and chrome surfaces.
• Empty trash receptacles and garbage containers throughout the facility.
• Maintain the cleanliness of entrances and exits by removing debris, garbage, and snow when necessary.
• Sweep, mop, scrub, and buff floors.
• Clean machinery, manufacturing equipment, and surrounding work areas.
• Break down and recycle or dispose of pallets, boxes, and other large materials.
• Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of hazards.
• Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and work instructions.
• Communicate effectively and work collaboratively with team members.
• Work overtime, extended hours, and weekends as business needs require.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of custodial, building maintenance, janitorial, or general labor experience.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the facility for extended periods.
• Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 40 lbs.
• Ability to read and follow instructions for the safe use of cleaning products and equipment.
• Frequently bend, kneel, crouch, and reach to clean areas at floor level and above shoulder height.
• Ability to climb stairs, ladders, and machine platforms as needed.
• Ability to safely operate cleaning equipment such as floor scrubbers (preferred).
• Ability to safely use utility knives and other cleaning tools.
• Must be able to understand both written and verbal instructions.

Work Environment

Work is performed in a warehouse and manufacturing environment. Exposure to varying indoor and outdoor temperatures. Safety glasses are required in manufacturing areas. Dust masks, nitrile gloves, and cut-resistant gloves must be worn when performing specific cleaning tasks. Regular exposure to cleaning chemicals and industrial equipment.
