Job summary

SBM Management Services, LP is seeking a Custodian to ensure cleanliness and sanitation across assigned areas in Aurora, IL. The role involves janitorial duties, following the daily schedule, and adhering to safety policies.

The position requires the ability to work in a team and perform repetitive cleaning tasks with attention to detail. Qualifications include no formal education requirement with 3–6 months training or experience preferred; bilingual abilities are a plus, and forklift

• Perform janitorial duties and daily schedule tasks.
• Execute Hazardous Waste responsibilities including collection, sorting, labeling, and packaging.
• Operate motorized cleaning equipment and maintain assigned area.
• Report incidents and hazardous conditions; follow all safety rules and procedures.
• Work in a team; perform repetitive tasks and maintain a professional demeanor.

Job Overview

The Custodian is responsible for the cleanliness and sanitation of all areas assigned.

Roles & Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully and safely, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned.

• Perform janitorial duties

• Perform all duties listed on the daily schedule

• Perform Hazardous Waste responsibilities including collecting, classifying, sorting, storing, shipping and receiving, labeling, cleaning, recycling, packaging of special and hazardous waste.

• Operate motorized cleaning equipment

• Maintain daily upkeep of assigned area

• Report incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor

• Comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures

• Stop at risk behavior of others and self

• Perform work assignments in a team with other employees

• Perform repetitive tasks

• Maintain clean work area

• Follow all protocols, company procedures, policies, and rules

• Take direction and respond to supervision

• Talk with lead, supervisor, co-workers, managers, and customers in a professional manner

• Fill in during staff shortage

• Support shift lead in completing punch-list items

• Use proper personal protective equipment

• Present a professional appearance and conduct

• Understand customer service and satisfaction

• Understand reporting systems, and of the environment

Qualification

Education and/ or Experience: No specific education requirement, 3-6 months training or experience preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: May be required to have a valid driver’s license.Completed all safety and task training certification. May be required to be forklift certified.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Bilingual a plus

Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment and willing to share with team

Knowledge of the upkeep and care of the cleaning equipment

Knowledge of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, efficient use

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Compensation and Shift:

Wednesday-Saturday: 6:00pm-4:30am

$15.50- $16.30 per hour
