Job summary

Isleta Resort and Casino in Albuquerque, NM is seeking a Custodian to maintain cleanliness and safety across the facility while delivering World Class Guest Service to guests and team members.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED (preferred) and up to six months of custodial experience. Flexibility in scheduling and the ability to obtain a Gaming License are essential.

Responsibilities

• Wipes down tables, collects trash, and replaces liners.
• Restocks toiletry supplies.
• Empties trash receptacles and disposes properly.
• Maintains cleaning equipment and promotes safety practices.
• Greets guests and promotes positive guest relations with courteous service.
• Gives basic instruction on promotions and events.
• Occasionally performs other duties as needed.

Summary

Age Requirement: 21 years or older

Position Summary: Responsible for performing custodial and other miscellaneous duties to ensure the Isleta Resort and Casino’s buildings and facilities are maintained in a healthy, safe, and sanitary mannerwhile promoting and exhibiting World Class Guest Service to all the Isleta Resort and Casino employees and guests.

• Cleans and sanitizes customer areas, entrances areas, gaming areas, administrative areas, and restrooms.
• Dusts and mops tile floors.
• Wipes down tables, collects used trash bags, and hangs new trash bags to ensure a clean Bingo environment.
• Restocks toiletry supplies.
• Empties trash receptacles, bags trash, and disposes in proper areas.
• Properly cares for and maintains equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental cleaning practices
• Changes and washes trash containers and lids, as needed.
• Cleans and sanitizes slot machines.
• Cleans doors, walls, and partitions.
• Completes high and low dusting.
• Ensures an open and welcoming atmosphere that promotes skill enhancement.
• Greets guests, maintains a friendly and inviting atmosphere, and promotes positive guest relations through prompt, courteous, and efficient service.

Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma or General Educational Degree (GED) equivalent, preferred.
• Six (6) months’ experience custodial and/or retailed field, preferred.

Special Requirements, Licenses, and Certification

• Must be able to acquire and maintain Gaming License issued through POIGRA.
• Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug test and background investigation.
• Must be flexible with work schedule. Must be willing to work any days/hours as needed or required to meet business needs.
• Must maintain all Isleta Resort and Casino-wide educational and certification requirements.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Must be able to safely and appropriately use cleaning supplies and equipment.
• Must be able to read, understand, follow, and adhere to label precautions on cleaning solutions and containers while enforcing safety procedures.
• Must be able to take direction well.
• Must be able to accurately and successfully perform several tasks under high levels of stress and with minimal supervision.
• Must possess strong organizational and time management skills while paying close attention to details.
• Must be able to communicate, in writing and verbally, in English and in an effective, informative, and professional manner and be able to convey denials and/or defuse hostile guest situations with ease and tact.
• Must be able to perform basic mathematics to include, but is not limited to, adding, subtracting, multiplying.
• Must possess a highly developed sense of customer service and interpersonal skills including high integrity and respect for individuals.
• Must possess and exhibit a positive attitude towards internal and external guests at all times.
• Must possess a strong commitment to the organizational goals and objectives while showing the utmost discretion and loyalty to the organization when dealing with confidential information and data.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

• Must be able to regularly lift, move, push, pull, and/or manipulate heavy objects weighing up to 50 pounds with assistance.
• Must be able to regularly bend, stoop, and crawl.
• Must be able to climb ladders.
• Must be able to constantly walk and/or stand for extended periods of time.

Working Conditions:

Work is generally performed in, both, a Casino setting with exposure to second-hand smoke and a high noise level, and exposure to various lights and sounds. Possible exposure to hazards, Blood Borne Pathogens, and unusual elements such as: dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises. Moderate exposure to dangers and physical risks that may require the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and may occasionally be required to interact with hostile and/or angry guests.
