Job summary

01 Mount St. Mary's University is looking for a Custodial Worker to perform comprehensive custodial maintenance of facilities in Emmitsburg, Maryland. This full-time position offers a minimum pay rate of $15.00 per hour with a comprehensive benefits package including paid time off and tuition remission.

The ideal candidate must be able to work in adverse conditions and be on their feet all day, lifting up to 50 lbs. Overtime may be required on weekends.

Qualifications

• Experience with stripping and waxing floors and shampooing carpets may be required.
• Familiarity with safety rules and regulations applicable to the work environment.
• Ability to read, write, and follow instructions.

Job description

Position Title: Custodial Worker (Accepting Applications)

Responsibilities

• Performs routine and comprehensive custodial maintenance of assigned facilities.
• Vacuum, shampoo, and spot clean carpets and furniture as needed; wash windows.
• Remove trash in accordance with established procedures.
• Cleans and disinfects restrooms, locker rooms, and other facilities as specified; stocks facilities with paper and supplies.
• Report and respond to emergency calls for custodial assistance.
• Identify stains and use proper chemicals for removal.
• Maintain inventory and submit written requests for supplies; test and evaluate new supplies and equipment.

Requirements

• Experience with stripping and waxing floors and shampooing carpets may be required.
• Familiarity with and adherence to all the safety rules and regulations of the College safety policy applicable to the work environment.
• Ability to read, write, and follow instructions.
• Can work in adverse conditions, under pressure, and with short deadlines.
• Overtime on weekends may be required.
• Must be on feet all day and able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Compensation & Benefits
