Job summary

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Department of Human Services, is seeking a Custodial Worker 1 to maintain the South Mountain Restoration Center facilities and grounds. This role supports resident care and operations by keeping buildings clean, safe, and well-maintained.

You will perform cleaning, linen handling, equipment operation, and basic building support duties on a full-time schedule. The position emphasizes safety, reliability, and contributing to a welcoming environment for residents

Qualifications

• Willingness and ability to work in Franklin County, Pennsylvania
• Experience as custodian/cleaner in hospitals, schools, or similar facilities
• Familiarity with cleaning routines and basic facility support tasks

Responsibilities

• Clean floors, furniture, walls and restrooms; mop, scrub, wax, and polish surfaces
• Distribute linen; prepare, deliver, disinfect, and organize linen carts and supplies
• Operate cleaning equipment following safety procedures
• Move furniture, take out trash, separate recyclables, transport supplies
• Replace light bulbs and report maintenance needs to supervisors
• Sweep walkways and manage snow/ice during bad weather
