Job summary

PRIDE Industries in Seaside, CA is seeking a diligent Janitor to maintain clean, safe facilities at multiple customer sites. Under supervision, you will perform general custodial tasks, including cleaning rooms, restrooms, cafeterias, and common areas, using proper chemicals and equipment.

Qualifications

• 0 to 1 year of work experience, preferably in custodial services
• Ability to follow instructions on labels for proper and safe use of chemicals, supplies and equipment
• Ability to follow structured process and procedures, and to learn to use specialized custodial equipment
• Ability to communicate effectively and respond to questions and requests from customers and others; including ability to identify and report product and equipment needs
• Human relations skills to build effective working relationships
• Availability to work evenings; flexibility of schedule changes, work duration and task assignments
• Ability to manage and accurately track material resources and time, and adapt to changing work priorities
• Demonstrated organizational, problem solving and common sense skills

Responsibilities

• Under close supervision, performs general custodial services in customer locations or other assigned areas
• Cleans facilities, restrooms, common areas, cafeterias
• Removes trash and replaces bags
• Dusts and polishes equipment, furniture or fixtures
• Cleans tables and microwaves
• Vaccums carpets and floors
• Cleans walls, arranges furniture and blinds
• Uses chemicals properly and refills dispensers
• Maintains quality of work and responds to customer requests
• Cleans spills promptly
• Cleans and maintains custodial equipment
• May wax and buff floors and operate equipment
• May monitor inventory and supply areas
• Performs other duties and special projects as assigned
