Job summary

Central Insurance in Van Wert, OH is seeking a Custodial Specialist to maintain world-class cleanliness and order across our campus. The role includes trash removal, carpet and floor care, restroom and window cleaning, and support for special projects; schedule is 5 days on/4 days off with on-call weekends.

The position is full-time, onsite, with competitive base pay and benefits. Previous custodial experience and a valid driver’s license are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness of Central buildings including trash pickup, carpet cleaning, hard floor care, restroom cleaning, and window cleaning.
• Assist in cleanup and maintenance of equipment and campus.
• Monitor and report problems for Central systems and equipment.
• Train and answer questions for team members.
• Complete beverage and room setup as requested and assist with special projects.

Your duties will include ensuring the facility is in world-class condition from the perspective of cleanliness and orderliness. Our custodial group consists of individuals who are empowered to decide how to perform their duties best to achieve the exceptional level of service we desire.

Shift hours: Current 7:00am - 3:30pm

This position follows an alternate 5-day/4-day work schedule. Employees work Monday through Friday one week and Monday through Thursday the following week, with every other Friday off. This full-time schedule totals 75 hours per two-week pay period and provides an extended weekend every other week.

How You'll Make An Impact

• Maintaining cleanliness of Central buildings including:
• Trash Pickup
• Carpet Cleaning
• Hard Floor Care
• Restroom Cleaning
• Window Cleaning
• Assist in cleanup and maintenance of equipment and campus
• Maintain equipment cleanliness according to manufacturers recommendations, reporting issues when appropriate
• Apply cleaning solutions and chemicals in accordance to labels and laws
• Assisting with other special projects throughout Central Insurance campuses
• Complete beverage and room set up as requested, including but not limited to: coffee, water, soft drinks
• Weekend/holiday on-call as scheduled including the monitoring and announcements of severe weather
• Cleaning of Central's rental properties as assigned
• Train and answer questions for others within the team
• Monitor and report problems for Central systems including, but not limited to heating and cooling systems, plumbing, electrical, and lighting
