Job summary

Pacific West Site Services, Inc. in Illinois is seeking a Custodial Lead to oversee cleanliness and sanitation of assigned areas and provide direction to custodial staff. The role supports the Custodial Supervisor with staffing and training, equipment operation, and inventory management.

Ideal candidates hold a high school diploma or GED with at least 1 year of related experience and may need CPR/AED/First Aid certification. Forklift certification may be required.

Qualifications

• CPR/AED/First Aid certification preferred; a valid driver's license may be required.

Responsibilities

• Perform janitorial duties and daily schedule tasks.
• Provide work direction to custodians as directed by supervisor.
• Schedule and train staff as needed and operate cleaning equipment.
• Track equipment, inventory, and supplies; report hazards.
• Inspect quality, safety, and service; report incidents.
• Assist with purchasing cleaning supplies; monitor PPE use.

Custodial Lead

Job Overview

The Custodial Lead will be responsible for the cleanliness and sanitation of the areas assigned and provides some work direction to custodial staff.

Roles & Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully and safely, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned.

• Perform janitorial duties
• Perform all duties listed on the daily schedule
• Provide work direction and assistance to custodians as directed by Custodial Supervisor
• Assist Custodial Supervisor in scheduling and training staff as needed
• Operate motorized cleaning equipment
• Track equipment inventory, maintenance, and repair
• Schedule clean up and repairs as needed
• Maintain daily upkeep of assigned area
• Track and maintain supply inventory
• Assist Custodial Supervisor in purchasing cleaning supplies and equipment
• Perform quality, service, and safety inspections
• Report incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor
• Report employee personnel and customer issues to supervisor
• Monitor employees for proper use of personal protective equipment, and supplies
• Correct at risk behavior and report to the supervisor immediately

Provide recommendations for corrective action on areas that need improvement

The ability to drive to various work locations, customer sites, or company facilities may be necessary to perform the essential functions of this position.

Education and/ or Experience:

High school diploma / GED required. At least 1-year related experience

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

CPR/AED/First Aid certification . A valid driver's license may be required for this position based on business needs. Employees required to drive as part of their job duties must maintain an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) and meet company driving eligibility requirements. . Completed all safety and task training certification. May be required to be forklift certified

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment and willing to share with team
• Knowledge of the upkeep and care of the cleaning equipment
• Knowledge of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, efficient use
