Job summary

Emergent BioSolutions is seeking a Custodian and Grounds Technician to maintain non-GMP areas of the facility in a clean, audit-ready state.

You'll perform cleaning of administrative spaces, manage logs, snow removal, landscaping, and assist with safety training and continuous improvement initiatives.

This role requires good interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to operate powered cleaning equipment within a pharmaceutical environment.

Qualifications

• Completion of Grade 12 from an accredited educational institution preferred combined with minimum 1 year of related experience.
• Experience in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment is an asset.
• Good working knowledge of janitorial functions and the ability to operate powered cleaning equipment.

Responsibilities

• Clean all administrative and common areas: empty garbage, clean floors, dust, clean windows, etc.
• Perform scheduled and unscheduled preventative maintenance tasks in SAP related to cleaning.
• Maintain detailed cleaning logs for all areas of responsibility.
• Perform snow removal and landscaping assignments, as required.
• May oversee contractors employed to perform the general maintenance and repairs to the facility and grounds.
• Maintain all material, supplies and equipment used to maintain the facility.
• Participate in and maintain all required job specific and safety training.
• Maintain a current and detailed knowledge of cGMP.
• Seek ways to increase operational efficiency.
• Participate in special projects as required.
• Other duties as assigned by the custodial supervisor.
• Assists with continuous improvement projects within the department

MINIMUM EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS

U.S. Base Pay Ranges and Benefits Information

The estimated annual base salary as a new hire for this position ranges from $34,000 to $41,200. Individual base pay depends on various factors such as applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant’s geographic location. Certain roles are eligible for additional incentive compensation, including merit increases, annual bonus, [and/or long-term incentives in the form of stock options.].
