Job summary

Galen College of Nursing is seeking a Custodial Facilities Technician in Louisville. You will perform routine custodial work across campus spaces, maintain supplies, and support security coverage while upholding a clean, safe campus environment.

You will follow a scheduled cleaning routine, handle minor repairs, and assist with grounds and facility maintenance to ensure a welcoming learning atmosphere for students and staff.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate orally with coworkers, customers, and students.
• Stand for long periods; lift 25–50 lbs.
• Minimal supervision required.

Responsibilities

• Perform interior and exterior custodial duties for campus spaces.
• Maintain inventory of custodial supplies and notify supervisor for orders.
• Respond to emergency cleaning requests as needed.
• Assemble and repair items as required.
• Use basic hand tools and cleaning equipment.
• Replace light bulbs and other supplies as needed.
• Paint and repair walls, doors, frames, etc.
• Take on additional custodial duties as assigned.
• Carry out minor security-related tasks as needed.
• Follow daily, weekly, and quarterly maintenance schedules.

Position Overview:

As a Custodial Facilities Technician at Galen College of Nursing, you will perform routine and preventative custodial work of campus facility and equipment; assists with security coverage; cleans and maintains campus grounds including but not limited to all common spaces, classrooms, learning labs, study space, bathrooms, storage areas, faculty and staff areas, break rooms, testing areas, Galen shop, outdoor patios, parking lots and walkways ; removes all trash daily, maintains, cleans and sanitized surfaces, replenishes all sanitary products, including but not limited to, paper towels, toilet paper, hand soap, hand sanitizer; properly maintains and cleans all floors, windows and walls; properly replace light bulbs and supplies; paint and repair walls, door frames; performs ancillary maintenance duties; follow daily, weekly, and quarterly cleaning and maintenance schedule; and maintain a secure and clean campus climate for students, faculty and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Performs all cleaning for interior and exterior of campus

5. Use tools ranging from common hand tools, and cleaning tools

8. Perform additional custodial duties as directed.
9. Perform minor security details
10. Additional duties as assigned

Position Requirements:

• Special Qualifications: Communicate orally with co-workers, customers, clients, or the public in a face-to-face, one-to-one setting or using a telephone. Work cooperatively with other contractors, employees, various levels of management, and students.
• Physical/Mental Demands & Work Environment: Must be able to stand for long periods of time. Lift 25-50 pounds.
• Degree of Supervision: Minimal.
