Job summary

The Chronicle of Higher Education, Inc. invites applications for a Curriculum Systems Specialist to support curriculum management tools and the general catalog at the University of Utah campus.

You will configure catalog requirements, assist faculty through curriculum review and approval, collaborate with staff across campuses, and lead training on curriculum software. A hybrid schedule is available after probation, with a typical Monday–Friday 8:00am–5:00pm cadence.

Qualifications

  • Requires an associate's degree in a related area or equivalency and 2-4 years of experience.
  • Experience with relational databases and client-server concepts.
  • Experience with PeopleSoft or student information systems.

Curriculum Systems Specialist
Job Summary

The Curriculum Management and Academic Planning unit, located inthe Office of the Registrar, is seeking an entry-level professionalto assist with curriculum technologies, including the generalcatalog, and curriculum management tools. They will processcurriculum changes in the curriculum management tools and producethe general catalog. This position will collaborate with staff,faculty, academic departments and colleges across campus with abroad set of stakeholders, including team members in UndergraduateStudies, the Graduate School, University Information Technology,Office of General Education, Office of Learning OutcomesAssessment, and UOnline to provide encoding, analysis,configuration support, and maintenance for tools.

Responsibilities
  • Configure and maintain curriculum and program requirements inthe academic catalog, ensuring accuracy and alignment withinstitutional standards.
  • Provide comprehensive support to faculty throughout thecurriculum review and approval process, ensuring proposed changescomply with university policies and state regulations. Offerguidance and resources to facilitate successfulimplementation.
  • Collaborate with faculty, staff, and academic departments tooptimize the use and functionality of curriculum managementsystems.
  • Operate across multiple platforms to ensure consistency andalignment between institutional policies, course prerequisites, thestudent information system, and the published catalog. Ensurecurriculum requirements are written in ways that can besuccessfully programmed into the degree audit system.
  • Lead and contribute to cross-functional projects with partnersincluding, but not limited to, Undergraduate Studies, the GraduateSchool, University Information Technology, the Office of GeneralEducation, the Office of Learning Outcomes Assessment, and UOnlineto enhance curriculum technologies.
  • Gather and analyze user feedback on curriculum softwareperformance. Recommend and implement system enhancements to bettersupport academic operations.
  • Maintain and enhance the effectiveness of the curriculumoffice's online presence, ensuring accessibility and up-to-datecontent.
  • Design and deliver engaging training sessions for faculty andstaff. Regularly update and distribute training materials topromote consistent and effective use of curriculum tools.
  • Initiate and lead efforts to identify and resolve issuesrelated to curriculum systems, processes & policies.Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and implement innovativeprocess improvements.
  • Disseminate accurate and timely course and program informationto the campus community. Ensure clear communication of curriculumpolicies and updates.
  • Continuously evaluate curriculum processes and tools toidentify opportunities for increased efficiency and effectiveness.Implement strategic improvements based on data-driveninsights.
  • Provide responsive and knowledgeable support to stakeholders,addressing inquiries of varying complexity with a commitment toexceptional customer service.
Minimum Qualifications

Requires an associate's degree in a related area or equivalency(one year of education can be substituted for two years of relatedwork experience) and 2-4 years of experience in the field or in arelated area. Familiar with relational database concepts, andclient-server concepts.
