Job summary

Memphis-Shelby County Schools is seeking an Instructional Curriculum Coach to provide leadership for literacy, math, or science programs at a school. The role focuses on reading and writing across content areas, organizing and guiding teams to develop strong content plans, and supporting teachers with instructional strategies.

The coach analyzes state and district data to target professional development, coordinates interventions, and communicates best practices to improve student achievement

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Education, Curriculum and Instruction or related field.
• Endorsement in the content area of assignment.
• Four (4) years of classroom experience.
• Valid Tennessee teacher licensure certification.

Responsibilities

• Provides leadership for literacy, math, or science programs across the school.
• Leads a team developing school-wide content plans and instructional strategies.
• Guides teachers in embedding evidence-based practices and organizes professional development.
• Analyzes state and district assessment data to target professional development needs.
• Coordinates intervention and support for students and monitors progress.
• Communicates instructional best practices to school leadership for teacher effectiveness.
• Facilitates grade-level teams and teacher leaders to improve student achievement.
• Prepares reports documenting activities and outcomes.

Education

Master’s Degree in Education, Curriculum and Instruction

Endorsement in content area

Four years classroom experience

Tennessee teacher licensure
