This position is responsible for the construction, configuration, and maintenance of Degree Audit, Degree Planner, and Curriculum rules and systems. They analyze and evaluate complex CSU/CSULB curriculum and policies, including General Education, to ensure they are accurately reflected in campus-wide tools, spanning from a student\'s admission to graduation. This includes developing and applying curriculum rules within university tools, including testing and validation of the results. Additionally, the analyst will document, troubleshoot, and resolve issues to ensure accuracy and reliability, and evaluate and apply upgrades and fixes related to campus functionality.
Furthermore, this position provides services that are equitable, inclusive, and culturally sensitive to enhance the quality of campus life. This position uses a student-centered and equity-minded approach in all communication and service efforts.

The ideal candidate possesses extensive experience in degree audit, degree planner, and curriculum management systems, with the ability to construct, configure, maintain, and continuously improve these tools to ensure alignment with CSULB curriculum requirements and university policies. They demonstrate a strong understanding of General Education requirements, majors, premajors, minors, certificates, credentials, transfer credit, and degree completion pathways, ensuring that all curriculum and policy rules are accurately implemented and maintained within university systems. This individual excels at analyzing and translating complex academic policies into technical system configurations, developing testing scenarios, validating outcomes, and performing comprehensive system and regression testing for software upgrades, enhancements, and vendor releases. They maintain detailed documentation, establish best practices and procedures, troubleshoot system issues, and provide thoughtful recommendations for process improvements and policy implementation. The successful candidate remains current on evolving CSU and CSULB policies, transfer agreements, technologies, and university systems, applying their technical expertise to support curriculum revisions, enhance system functionality, and ensure accurate evaluation of student progress from admission through graduation. They are also a collaborative partner who effectively supports special projects and works closely with leadership to analyze proposed changes, address operational challenges, and implement innovative solutions that support institutional goals and compliance requirements.
