Job summary

Parsons in Hawaii is seeking a highly capable J33 operations planner to coordinate across staff sections and support counterdrug and transnational organized crime activities in the Indo-Pacific region.

The role demands active DoD TS/SCI clearance, strong written and verbal communication, and proficiency with SharePoint and MS Office. Expect collaboration with U.S. law enforcement, interagency partners, and PACOM.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrable experience supporting military, joint, interagency, operational, or current-operations planning activities.
  • Working knowledge of joint policy, joint planning processes, operational reporting, and staff coordination procedures.
  • Experience coordinating activities across multiple staff sections and managing simultaneous operational requirements in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to work independently, exercise initiative within priorities and leadership intent, and respond promptly to requests for information.
  • Effective organizational, planning, analytical, and time-management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including drafting, proofreading, editing, and finalizing products for senior leaders and external organizations.
  • High proficiency with SharePoint, Microsoft Office applications, and data-sharing/collaboration tools; familiarity with C2IE and MSS.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain day-to-day situational awareness of ongoing and emerging operational requirements, threats, partner requests, and risks.

  • Draft, coordinate, track, and support execution of taskings and directives.
  • Integrate new missions and directives into current-operations processes and workflows.
  • Coordinate with U.S. law‑enforcement, interagency partners, and PACOM counterparts on counterdrug activities.
  • Support development of measures of performance/effectiveness and operational assessment products.
  • Capture lessons learned and track corrective actions.
  • Support development of workflows and AI-enabled tools for better decision support.
  • Prepare agendas and decision papers; facilitate planning events and track follow-on actions.

Clearance Needed: TS/SCI

Are you ready to put your military plans expertise to work on complex projects in support of an exciting mission focused on the Indo-Pacific region? The ideal candidate will be a self-starter able to work across multiple staff sections to self-task and guide J33 current operations in coordinating Department of War support to U.S. law‑enforcement, interagency, and partner‑nation counterdrug and counter‑transnational organized crime activities in the Pacific.

Specific Responsibilities
  • Maintain day‑to‑day situational awareness of ongoing and emerging operational requirements, threats, partner requests, and operational risks affecting mission execution.
  • Coordinate with J2, J3, and other cross‑functional staff elements to synchronize intelligence support, operational requirements, collection needs, partner engagement, and assessment activities.
  • Draft, coordinate, track, and support execution of approved taskings, operational requirements, synchronization products, and directives (including TASKORDs and OPORDs, as applicable) consistent with established command processes and authorities.
  • Integrate new missions, requirements, directives, and emerging priorities into J33 current‑operations processes, operational battle rhythm, and execution tracking.
  • Coordinate, as directed, with U.S. law‑enforcement agencies, interagency partners, USPACOM and component‑command counterparts, and approved partner organizations in support of counterdrug and drug‑related transnational organized crime activities.
  • Support operational assessment by developing, refining, and tracking measures of performance (MOPs), measures of effectiveness (MOEs), operational objectives, and associated assessment products.
  • Capture lessons learned and operational observations; identify trends, deficiencies, and process gaps; recommend corrective actions; and track implementation of approved improvements.
  • Support development and improvement of J33 workflows, dashboards, data‑management processes, and authorized AI‑enabled workflow tools to improve operational visibility and decision support.
  • Prepare agendas, read‑aheads, operational summaries, briefing materials, decision papers, action trackers, and other decision‑ready products; facilitate planning and synchronization events; capture decisions; and track follow‑on actions to completion.
Required Education/Experience
  • Demonstrable experience supporting military, joint, interagency, operational, or current‑operations planning activities.
  • Working knowledge of joint policy, joint planning processes, operational reporting, and staff coordination procedures.
  • Experience coordinating activities across multiple staff sections and managing simultaneous operational requirements in a dynamic environment.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to draft, proofread, edit, and finalize products for senior leaders, operational customers, and external organizations.
  • High proficiency with SharePoint, Microsoft Office applications, and data‑sharing, collaboration, and operational planning tools; familiarity with systems such as Command and Control of the Information Environment (C2IE) and Maven Smart System (MSS) is required.
  • Valid US Passport.
  • Active DoD TS security clearance with SCI eligibility.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience supporting PACOM, a combatant command, joint task force, component command, or operational directorate, particularly a J3/J33 staff.
  • Previous experience supporting DoW counterdrug, counter‑transnational organized crime, law‑enforcement support, maritime security, intelligence‑support‑to‑operations, or PACOM missions.
Security Clearance Requirement

An active Top Secret security clearance is required to apply, however, the selected candidate must be able to obtain a Top Secret SCI clearance prior to the start date.

Salary Range: $103,500.00 - $181,100.00
