Job summary

Vytal Option's cultivation facility in Duncannon, PA is seeking a Cultivation Technician to support all stages from seeding to harvest. The role requires attention to detail and the ability to work under high-intensity lighting and in dark rooms.

This position emphasizes compliance with state policies and SOPs, while maintaining safety and quality. The candidate should have a High School Diploma or GED, with horticulture experience preferred.

The Cultivation Technician is responsible for assisting with all aspects of Vytal Option's cultivation operations from seeding to harvest. This position will be located at our facility in Duncannon and serve as a critical member of the cultivation team. This position is responsible for maintaining their designated section of cannabis plants; utilizing time management and attention to detail to ensure the work is completed accurately and on time. This position will frequently work in high power lighting as well as complete darkness.

Key responsibilities include:

• Adhere to daily maintenance and monitoring of all plants; immediately report concerns to a supervisor to ensure overall health of the crop.
• Filling, watering, and trimming of plants.
• Verify labels are placed properly with coordinating plant.
• Ensure daily compliance with policies and procedures including but not limited to state compliance, security and safety protocols, and standard operating procedures as well as internal trainings.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

The successful candidate will possess:

Physical Requirements of the Position

This is a labor-intensive position, working in a production environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, talk, and hear. The employee is required to walk, stand for extended periods of time, and crouch/stoop. The employee will be required to use hands and fingers to operate, handle, and/or feel objects, tools, and/or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee will be required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The employee must be physically capable of performing manual labor tasks required for the proper management of grow facility, including meeting activity performance counts, lifting/carrying product totes, pushing carts, moving and making adjustments to equipment, etc. Will be required to wear varying degrees of personal protective equipment for specific tasks (some tasks require partial PPE; some will require full PPE). Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
