Job summary

Justice Grown is seeking a Cultivation Supervisor to lead an hourly cultivation team, oversee daily plant care, and ensure compliance with CRC regulations. The role focuses on coaching, performance management, and maintaining high standards of quality and safety.

You will coordinate tasks across vegetative and clonal areas, monitor environmental controls, and support continuous improvement initiatives while ensuring timely production and accurate recordkeeping.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or combination of education or experience.
• 2–3 years of relevant experience with team leadership in cannabis/agriculture/landscaping settings preferred.
• Must be 21 years of age and able to perform manual labor tasks.
• Strong communication and attention to detail for fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support hourly Cultivation Associates in daily tasks (watering, feeding, pruning, transplanting, cleaning).
• Manage performance, coaching, and annual evaluations in line with HR policies.
• Maintain plant health and ensure production goals and regulatory compliance.
• Coordinate cultivation activities across vegetative, clone, and mother plant areas.
• Monitor environmental conditions and report issues with systems (lighting, HVAC, irrigation, CO2).
• Track cultivation activities in the seed-to-sale system (MJ Freeway) and support audits.

Cultivation Supervisor

The Cultivation Supervisor is responsible for the daily oversight of hourly cultivation team members and the execution of cultivation tasks in accordance with company SOPs, production schedules, and regulatory requirements. This role includes leading team members in the care of cannabis plants, supporting compliance and safety initiatives, and ensuring adherence to quality standards. The supervisor also conducts coaching, performance management, disciplinary actions, and annual reviews in alignment with company policies and HR guidance. This position requires a hands‑on leadership approach with strong problem‑solving abilities and a focus on productivity, accountability, and product integrity.

Team Leadership & Oversight

Supervise, direct, and support hourly Cultivation Associates in daily tasks including watering, feeding, pruning, transplanting, and cleaning cultivation areas.

Manage performance expectations, issue coaching and corrective action in alignment with HR policies, and conduct annual performance evaluations.

Promote a positive team culture rooted in accountability, communication, and mutual respect.

Ensure team is consistently meeting production goals while maintaining plant health and compliance.

Cultivation Operations

Coordinate cultivation tasks in the vegetative, clone, and mother plant areas.

Lead plant care activities, including monitoring for pests, adjusting environmental conditions, and executing grow plans.

Maintain optimal plant structure and room conditions to support healthy development and yield.

Identify and report issues with lighting, HVAC, irrigation, and CO2 systems.

Follow protocols for pest management, biosecurity, and environmental monitoring.

Compliance & Recordkeeping

Track and document all cultivation activities using the state‑mandated seed‑to‑sale system (MJ Freeway), ensuring compliance with CRC regulations.

Maintain accurate records for plant inventory, environmental conditions, sanitation, waste, and daily task completion.

Support audits and inspections by maintaining clean, compliant workspaces and up‑to‑date records.

Performance & Continuous Improvement

Monitor hourly team productivity and ensure KPIs are met across quantity, quality, and compliance metrics.

Participate in continuous improvement and safety programs, including 5S and Hazard Communication.

Assist in scheduling labor and resource needs across weekly/monthly cultivation plans.

Collaborate with the Cultivation Manager on workflow improvements, training needs, and team development.

Education and Experience

• 2/3-years relevant experience with team leadership in a commercial cannabis, agricultural, or landscaping setting preferred (growing, harvesting, etc.).
• Bachelor’s Degree or a combination of education or experience
• Must be 21 years of age

• Understand basic weight and measurement concepts and able to operate various scales and meters.
