Job description

The Propagation Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of propagation activities, including the management of clones and mother stock in accordance with company policies and procedures and compliance with state regulations.

Primary Responsibilities

• Accountable for overseeing grow operations, creating a comprehensive plan and timeline for mother stock management, and ensuring the timely execution of the cloning schedule.
• Initiates and manages a clone schedule to consistently meet the demands of the business.
• Assists the Cultivation Manager in creating cultivation employee schedules based on demand estimations.
• Assists the Cultivation Manager in the employee review process of Propagation personnel.
• Tracks consumable inventory levels and ensures adequate supplies are available in reasonable quantities.
• Guarantees that the growing environment is consistently clean, well‑equipped, and in excellent working condition.
• Articulates a clear vision for success and educates Propagation team members on how their actions and achievements contribute to the company's overall goals.
• Establishes and enforces standards of accountability for Propagation staff.
• Completes regularly scheduled quality assessments of plants for signs of pests/disease.
• Ensures staff is trained and follows appropriate SOPs.
• Ensures that all necessary information is accurately maintained in the designated system and that site records are kept up to date.
• Mentors and supports the development of Propagation Technicians, offering continuous feedback to foster growth and improvement.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Botany, Horticulture, Agricultural Engineering, or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in a large‑scale commercial growing operation in a greenhouse environment, with 2+ years at the management level.
• Experience in multi‑tiered growing environments.
• Experience with grow data acquisition.
• Experience designing nutrient mixes.
• Knowledge of automated environmental control systems.
• Advanced understanding of horticulture practices including cloning plants.
• Ability to identify and remedy plant disease states.
• Ability to identify and remediate suboptimal nutrient states.
• Detailed knowledge of indoor hydroponic cultivation practices, life cycle of cannabis, common pests of cannabis and compliance.
• Must be 21 years or older and pass all required pre‑employment screenings.
• Full knowledge of all applicable law, regulations, and requirements to keep the facility at 100% compliance at all times.
• Must pass all required background checks.
• Must be and remain compliant with any and all regulatory requirements for working in the cannabis industry.
• Must be able to obtain and retain a Registered Agent Card issued by the state of operation.
• Must have excellent organization and time management skills.
• Must be focused, pay close attention to detail.
• Must be able to internalize training and follow instructions.
• Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively.
