Job summary

Forest Hills Commons in Jeffersontown, KY is hiring a Culinary Server to support meal service and dining operations for our residents. The role focuses on safe food handling, accurate portioning, and maintaining a clean dining environment.

The Culinary Server will assist in meal prep, serve residents, and ensure adherence to sanitation standards while collaborating with cooks and the Culinary Director. This position values reliability, teamwork, and strong customer service skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• ServSafe certification required.
• Excellent organizational, time-management and computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in meal preparation and portion allocation according to the menu and weekly schedule.
• Complete resident checklist and report results to cook or Culinary Director (CD).
• Assist in meal service in accordance with sanitation standards.
• Inform CD of any substandard food quality.
• Monitor food and beverage to ensure proper temperature.
• Buss tables and wash dishes using the full hands in, full hands out method.
• Clean equipment as assigned.
• Maintain dining room and kitchen area in clean condition, per procedures.
• Prepare, handle, store, and dispose of food per state and federal regulations.
• Clean workspaces, cooking and serving equipment, trays, and dishes.

Position: Culinary Server- Forest Hills Commons

Schedule:7 days 6am - 2:30pm and 11am-7:30pm

Location:Jeffersontown, KY

Compensation:Starting at $16/hour

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Culinary Server to join our team. The Culinary Server plays a vital role in ensuring smooth and efficient meal preparation, providing exceptional dining service, and maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen and dining areas. This position is integral to creating a positive dining experience by supporting all aspects of meal service—before, during, and after meals—while upholding the highest standards of hygiene, organization, and teamwork

• Immediately inform CD of any substandard food quality
• Monitor food and beverage to ensure proper temperature
• Buss tables and wash dishes using the full hands in, full hands out method
• Clean equipment as assigned
• Maintain dining room and kitchen area in clean condition, in accordance with community procedures
• Prepare, handle, store, and dispose of food in accordance with state and federal regulations
• Clean workspaces, cooking and serving equipment, trays, and dishes according to standards
• Load and unload the dishwasher, store clean equipment and dishes properly

Work Experience Requirements:

• A high school diploma or equivalent required
• Successful completion of all ServSafe educational requirements
• Excellent organizational, time-management and computer skills
• Enthusiasm and a positive attitude
• Work independently, maintain confidentiality and professionalism, and be a positive leader
• Demonstrate practical interpersonal skills as well as sound judgment and good decision-making skills
• Maintain good working relationships with residents and co-workers
• Proficiency in basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office)
• Ability to lift, push, or pull 50 pounds and bend, twist, stoop, kneel, and reach and sit for long periods
• Willingness to perform additional duties as assigned
