A unique program where individuals will work in a fully functional café earning a competitive wage, learning job skills and fostering community relationships!

As a Culinary Arts Teaching Assistant, you will play an essential role in our café operations and culinary arts program, providing support to adults with disabilities. Under the guidance of the Culinary Arts Instructor/Program Director, you will assist in preparing delicious breakfast and lunch options while fostering a positive atmosphere that encourages participants to achieve their culinary and personal goals.

What You’ll Do:
  • Create a welcoming environment where participants can thrive through collaboration and communication.
  • Operate the cafe, prepare food and serve customers.
  • Support daily cafe operations by ensuring high-quality food service and adherence to safety standards.
  • Help develop engaging culinary arts programming tailored to participants’ needs.
  • Build positive relationships with staff, participants, families, and café customers.
  • Be a passionate advocate for the mission of MAB Community Services, delivering high-quality support to individuals with disabilities.
  • Collaborate with the team to maintain compliance with health regulations and budget requirements.
  • Train and mentor participants in culinary skills while ensuring they understand food safety and kitchen operations.
