Job summary

J.F. Taylor, Inc. seeks a motivated Certified TEMPEST Professional (CTP-II) to lead TEMPEST testing, documentation, and compliance activities in Great Mills, MD. The role demands planning, execution, and collaboration with engineers, analysts, and scientists on secure communications and emanations control.

The candidate will author classified TEMPEST reports, support certification programs, and mentor junior TEMPEST trainees toward CTP certifications, enabling program success and customer trust.

Qualifications

  • Active Certified TEMPEST Professional (CTP Level II) certification required.
  • 3+ years of professional TEMPEST testing/EMI/EMC or RF security experience.
  • Strong background in electronics and electromagnetic theory with specialized measurement tools.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare TEMPEST test plans and procedures per NSTISSAM TEMPEST/01-02.
  • Develop and interpret verification/validation requirements with stakeholders.
  • Participate in test activities including requirements verification, functional/regression testing, and evaluations.
  • Analyze test data, generate verification reports and address deficiencies with engineering teams.
  • Author TEMPEST test reports, control plans, and E3 integration reports.
  • Evaluate ECPs, waivers, and deviations for TEMPEST impact and support design reviews.
  • Provide program documentation and briefings on V&V results to stakeholders.

Job description

J.F. Taylor isseekinga motivated and experienced Certified TEMPEST Professional (CTP-II) to support secure communications and compromising emanations controlinGreat Mills,MD. The ideal candidate will manage, plan, and execute TEMPEST testing, author compliance documentation, and ensure hardware designscomply withnational EMSEC and NSTISSAM/CNSS standards.

The position requires a combination of technical and task management skills and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively on a focused technical team of engineers, analysts, and scientists. The ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team, activelyparticipatingin technical reviews, teleconferences, and program meetings under the direction of Program Management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Testing & Execution:Prepare and execute TEMPEST test plans and proceduresin accordance withNSTISSAM TEMPEST/1-92 and CNSSAM TEMPEST/01-02.
  • Develop, review, and interpret verification and validation requirements for systems, models, and simulations in coordination with customers, engineers, and operational stakeholders.
  • Participate in formal and informal test activities, including requirements verification, functional testing, regression testing, performance assessments, and operational evaluations using available labs, simulators, and test environments.
  • Analyze test data, generate verification reports, document findings, and support resolution of identified deficiencies through engineering teams and program leadership.
  • Documentation:Author classified TEMPEST test reports, control plans, and Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3) integration reports.
  • Compliance & Design Review:Evaluate engineering change proposals (ECPs), waivers, and deviations for TEMPEST impact. Support hardware design reviews at the subsystem and system levels.
  • Program Support:Maintaindocumentationrequiredto support company certification under the Certified TEMPEST Test Services Program (CTTSP) or Manufacturing Program.Provide technical briefings, demonstrations, and presentations of V&V results to customers, stakeholders, leadership, and industry partners.
  • Mentorship:Provide technical guidance and mentor junior TEMPEST trainees toward their CTP certifications.
Position Requirements
  • Certification: Active Certified TEMPEST Professional (CTP Level II) certification.
  • Experience: 3+ years of professional experience in TEMPEST testing, electromagnetic interference/compatibility (EMI/EMC), or RF security.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong background in electronics, electromagnetic theory, and specialized measurement tools (oscilloscopes, DVMs, spectrum analyzers).
  • Applicant must be a U.S. citizen andhave the ability toobtain aTop Secretclearance with SCI eligibilitysecurity clearance.

Salary Range 150K-200K and will be commensurate with experience

Full-Time/Part-Time Full-Time

Level of Clearance Required Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility

Amount of Travel 25-50%
