Responsibilities

• Develop course syllabi and lesson plans
• Plan, prepare, and deliver instructional activities that promote active learning.
• Collaborate with the department to align curriculum with state standards.
• Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities.
• Prepare classroom for class activities
• Provide a variety of learning materials and resources for use in educational activities
• Identify and select instructional resources to meet diverse needs
• Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment
• Observe and evaluate student performance and development
• Assign and grade classwork, homework, tests, and assignments
• Provide feedback on work
• Maintain accurate records of students' progress and development
• Update records according to laws and district policies
• Prepare required reports on students and activities
• Manage student behavior in the classroom
• Maintain discipline per school rules
• Apply disciplinary measures where necessary
• Establish positive relationships with students through counseling and encouragement
• Participate in extracurricular activities and meetings
• Communicate information regularly to students, colleagues and parents
• Keep up to date with developments in the subject area and update instructional plans

Education
