Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Education required.
• Georgia Teaching Certification in a Career/Technical and Agricultural field or eligibility required.
• Leadership Certification strongly preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of supervisory/administrative experience; 3+ years classroom teaching experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist CTAE Director with coordinating, developing, and implementing CTAE programs.
• Lead Work-Based Learning (WBL) and Youth Apprenticeship Program (YAP) initiatives.
• Coordinate curriculum development to align with district initiatives and industry standards.
• Develop district plan for End of Pathway Exam process and ensure successful execution.
• Cultivate industry partnerships to strengthen career pipelines for students.
• Provide leadership development for CTAE teacher leaders and convene advisory meetings.
• Monitor and evaluate CTAE programs and recommend enhancements.
• Interface with other district departments and community stakeholders.

Job description

Assists the Director of CTAE with leadership and direction for the planning, development, implementation, and assessment of initiatives related to students’ preparation for college and careers. This will include increasing the relevance and rigor of career, technical, and agricultural curriculum and the various CTAE course offerings at the elementary, middle, and high school levels. The incumbent is responsible for supporting programs that engage students in career related educational experiences such as Work Based Learning and internships and enhancing the relationship between the District and postsecondary and industry partners.

• Assists the CTAE Director in the coordination, development, and implementation of CTAE programs
• Assists the CTAE Director with delegating tasks, projects, and responsibilities within the CTAE Department
• Assists the CTAE Director with all grant and budget management functions
• Assists in the monitoring and evaluation of CTAE programs throughout the District and recommends enhancements and/or modifications to enrich students’ learning experiences
• Assists with the alignment of CTAE programs with local school strategic plans and the FCS strategic plan
• Develops a district support plan for the End of Pathway Exam process for Fulton County Schools
• Directs implementation of the Work-Based Learning (WBL) program and the Youth Apprenticeship Program (YAP)
• Leads workforce development initiatives by cultivating industry partnerships and strengthening career pipelines for students
• Provides support and leadership development for CTAE teacher leaders
• Facilitates advisory council and sub-committee meetings
• Coordinates curriculum development and implementation to ensure that programs/courses are aligned with District initiatives and meet state and industry standards
• Interfaces and collaborates with other departments within Fulton County Schools
• Models exemplary practices regarding effective teaching strategies in the classroom
• Uses data to determine modifications which will enhance program offerings and opportunities for students to excel in the future; stays current in laws, requirements and national trends related to Career, Technical and Agricultural Education
• Demonstrates a flexible, adaptive, and responsive approach to the needs of FCS and the students, educators, school organizations, and communities that it serves
• Conveys a positive and professional image to staff and public
• Engages in continual learning to deepen knowledge of current and emerging technologies
• Participates in meetings with community stakeholders (chambers of commerce, advisory committees, industry partners)
• Performs other duties as assigned by the appropriate administrator

Required Education

Master’s Degree in Education

Certification/Licensure

Must hold or be eligible for Georgia Teaching Certification in a Career, Technical and Agricultural teaching field

Leadership Certification strongly preferred

Experience Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of supervisory and/or administrative experience, and 3 additional years of experience as a classroom teacher required
