AdventHealth in Chatsworth, GA is seeking a part-time Radiologic Technologist specialized in CT imaging. You will perform high-quality CT exams, manage IV contrast, and ensure patient safety and accuracy while collaborating with radiologists to provide excellent patient care.

The role requires adherence to radiation safety, proficiency with PACS/SyngoVia, and strong documentation in EMR. Eligible candidates possess ARRT CT certification and BLS, with specific CTA reconstruction skills preferred.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality CT examinations following orders and protocols.
• Ensure patient safety and radiation protection in ALARA principles.
• Prepare and administer IV contrast material and monitor for adverse reactions.
• Position patients accurately and maintain image quality for diagnosis.
• Collaborate with radiologists to ensure appropriate imaging and continuity of care.
• Maintain clean exam rooms and ensure equipment safety checks are completed.
• Document all activities in EMR/PACS and manage inventory as needed.

Job Description:

• Practicing infection control standards and using approved PPE and disinfectant agents.
• Follows department protocols for patient identification, informed consent, and time-out procedures prior to starting exams.
• Performs high-quality CT examinations in accordance with provider orders and departmental protocols, ensuring optimal image quality for accurate diagnosis.
• Reviews patient history and clinical information to confirm exam appropriateness and identify potential contraindications.

• Prepares and administers IV contrast material following safety guidelines and monitors patients for adverse reactions.
• Positions patients accurately and comfortably, using immobilization devices when necessary, while ensuring radiation safety and ALARA principles are maintained.
• Collaborates with radiologists and other healthcare providers to ensure appropriate imaging and continuity of patient care.
• Ensures exam rooms are clean, stocked, and ready for use, and that all equipment undergoes routine cleaning and safety checks.
• Notifies appropriate personnel when inventory is low. Performs and documents daily system quality control (QC) checks in compliance with departmental policies and regulatory requirements.
• Maintains accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR) and PACS systems.
• Educates patients about the exam and complete all exams in a timely manner, maintaining workflow and minimizing empty table time.
• Operates all imaging equipment safely and properly, including scanners, injectors, and monitors, adapting protocols for patients of all ages.
• Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Ability to learn and use Radiology software packages such as Fuji/Agfa PACS application, CT scanners and workstations Siemens SyngoVia, EMR such as Cerner/Epic. [Required]
• Ability to quickly learn and follow departmental policies and procedures. [Required]
• Maintain all required registries and licenses to perform imaging procedures. [Required]
• Ability to follow basic radiation safety concepts of time, shielding and distance to keep exposure levels as low as reasonably achievable for patients and staff. [Required]
• Ability to complete exams in an acceptable time frame to meet ED/Observation TAT goals. [Required]
• Ability to assess, start and confirm appropriate placement of IV’s for use in CT studies. [Required]
• The ability to assess, explain and perform CT and XR studies on patients of all ages. [Required]
• Ability to learn and complete CTA Reconstructions. Specifically, Cardiac CTA. [Required]
• Past CTA Reconstruction skills [Preferred]

Education:

• High School Grad or equivalent [Required]
• Associate [Preferred]

Work Experience:

• 3+ years radiology experience [Preferred]

Pay Range:

$27.68 - $51.49
