Job summary

UCHealth Emergency Arvada is seeking a Radiologic Technologist specialized in CT imaging to join the Arvada ED. You will perform CT examinations, collaborate with radiologists and referring physicians, and ensure procedures meet scope, standards, and institutional policies.

This is a full-time night-shift role in a fast-paced ED environment. Requirements include graduation from an accredited Radiologic Technologist program, ARRT RT certification (CT within 12 months preferred), and BLS/CPR

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program.
  • ARRT RT certification required or registry eligible with completion of CT registry within 12 months.
  • BLS/CPR certification through ACLS provider (AHA or ARC) before start date; active through 60 days after hire.

Responsibilities

  • Review patient history and orders to ensure imaging appropriateness.
  • Educate patients about procedures, equipment, and exam to ensure understanding.
  • Acquire, analyze, and report imaging results; maintain image quality and minimize exposure.
  • Prepare and administer contrast media within scope of practice when ordered.
  • Monitor patient condition and respond to changes; ensure safety and comfort.

Summary

Provides computed tomography imaging, diagnostic imaging in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and with the policies, values, and mission of the organization. Collaborates with radiologists and referring physicians.

Responsibilities
  • Reviews patient history, physician orders, and lab results to ensure appropriateness.
  • Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation.
  • Analyzes imaging results and identifies any quality concerns for further action.
  • When ordered, prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice.
  • Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate.
  • Prepares equipment and supplies.
  • Selects appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters to optimize image quality while minimizing radiation exposure.
  • Performs Point of Care Testing (POCT) and Moderate Complexity Laboratory Testing according to laboratory procedures.
  • Maintains proficiency in testing samples and adheres to quality control policies.
  • Analyzes results and identifies issues with the quality of imaging results.
  • Resolves image quality issues, including re-positioning patient and repeating procedure.
  • Enters, transmits and reports scan results.
  • Conducts Electrocardiogram (EKG) procedures, vital assessments, splinting assistance and other routine patient care tasks as required.
  • Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program.
  • Registered as a Radiologic Technologist (RT) and registered, and or registry eligible with completion of registry in 12 months in computed tomography (CT) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date.
  • BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire.
