Job summary

SouthEast Alaska Regional Health Consortium is seeking an Radiologic Technologist to perform radiographic and sonographic procedures across assigned units. You will ensure patient safety, maintain accurate records, and contribute to quality assurance within the department.

The role requires ARRT certification in Radiography with current competency and adherence to SEARHC policies, with travel to multiple SEARHC sites and potential shifts as needed.

  • Experience performing all diagnostic exams related to assigned modality.
  • Knowledge, skills, and abilities for tech levels vary by modality.

Job description

Pay Range: $38.93 - $54.76

Sign On and Relocation: $25,000 sign‑on bonus and $10,000 relocation will be awarded to a qualified hire.

The Radiologic Technologist must demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients, apply radiographic and sonographic procedures, and maintain patient safety and quality assurance within the assigned unit.

Key Essential Functions and Accountabilities
  • Provide radiographic examination of all body parts for diagnostic interpretation.
  • Apply radiation protection principles with professional judgement in procedure performance.
  • Conduct diagnostic medical radiography/sonography in department and other areas.
  • Maintain patient records and files.
  • Assume responsibility for departmental quality assurance program.
  • Pursue continuing education.
  • Transfer patients to and from radiology.
  • Act as department supervisor when necessary.
  • Rotate shifts as required.
  • Perform ancillary duties as requested by supervisor.
  • Follow SEARHC Administration policies and procedures.
  • Assist in maintaining departmental hygiene.
  • Work well under stress.
  • Take call and report to work within 20 minutes.
  • Learn additional imaging modalities as needed.
  • Perform duties in two fields of imaging and be willing to work outside of modality (e.g., Ultrasound, MRI, CT, Mammography).
  • Maintain competency in ancillary modalities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
CT / Interventional Responsibilities
  • Care for equipment in the CT/Interventional area.
  • Assist with invasive procedures and related knowledge.
  • Participate in preparation of procedures.
  • Consult with referring physicians.
  • Strive toward venipuncture goals.
  • Follow standard precautions procedures.
  • Adjust protocols for pediatric, adolescent, and geriatric patients.
  • Change contrast levels per age group.
  • Set up and run automatic injectors.
  • Know contraindications of contrast.
  • Operate tele‑radiology transmission.
  • Maintain sterile technique.
  • Assist with supply inventory and ordering.
  • Attend department meetings, in‑services, and disaster drills.

Education, Certifications, and Licenses Required
  • Current ARRT in Radiography with Clinical Competency within 3 months of hire and every three years thereafter.
  • Experience performing all diagnostic exams related to assigned modality.
  • Knowledge, skills, and abilities: Tech I – ARRT or ARDMS in one modality; Tech II – ARRT (CT, MR, MG, NM) or ARDMS certified in two modalities; Tech III – ARRT (CT, MR, MG, NM) or ARDMS certified in three modalities; Tech IV – ARRT (CT, MR, MG, NM) or ARDMS certified in four modalities.
  • Travel required to various SEARHC sites.
