Job summary

FMOL Health is seeking a CT Tech 1 to prepare and position patients for Computed Tomography exams, and to produce diagnostic images while minimizing radiation exposure. The role emphasizes patient safety, education, and strict adherence to imaging protocols.

The successful candidate will work under general supervision and develop competency in operating CT equipment and collaborating with radiology staff. Responsibilities include ensuring patient safety, documenting procedures, and assisting

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program.
  • Current state license, ARRT (R) or registry eligible, or temp license.
  • BLS-HCP certification and strong communication, teamwork, and organization skills.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and position patients for CT examinations following protocol.
  • Produce CT images to aid diagnosis while minimizing radiation exposure.
  • Educate patients and family before and after procedures.
  • Adhere to department policies and safety guidelines for contrast administration.
  • Assist physicians with a variety of CT examinations using standard protocols.
  • Identify and address any emergent or scheduling issues to maintain workflow.

Prevents patient from being exposed to unnecessary radiation. Ensures patient safety by using pre-established imaging protocols, and screens patients for safe administration of contrast media.   • Assistance is provided to the physician in performing a variety of examinations using standard department protocols, isolation precautions and/or sterile technique, as evidenced by physician\'s satisfaction.
  • Clinical and/or emergent problems that may interfere with exams are identified and take appropriate action to resolve them and produce the most desirable outcome, as evidenced by exam results and patient satisfaction.
  • Patient safety is demonstrated in department by use of side rails, braking mechanisms and patient monitoring as evidenced by risk management reports.
  • The technologist reports, documents and corrects any adverse, unsafe or unusual conditions, as evidenced by the patient/employee incidence reports.

  • Equipment is troubleshoot effectively and immediately and reports equipment problems to biomedical engineering/vendor, as evidenced by service reports.
