Qualifications

  • Completion of Radiologic Technology program.
  • CT experience preferred (3 years).
  • Licenses: Radiography and CT upon hire; BLS required.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret a physician's instructions.
  • Screen patients for safety.
  • Explain CT procedures to patients.
  • Prepare patients for procedures.
  • Select software options and imaging parameters when adjusting a CT scanner.
  • View images and keep records in the radiology information system.
  • Review and complete patient exam and charges.
  • Other duties as assigned.

They also prepare and administer contrast agents to obtain some images. CT Technologists may work in various clinical environments, such as the hospital or diagnostic imaging centers. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

Responsibilities

  • View images from an imaging session and keep records of the results.
  • Review and complete patient exam and charges within the radiology information system.
  • Other duties as assigned
Education
  • Completion of Radiologic Technology program. - Required
Work Experience
  • 3 Years - Experience in CT - Preferred
Licenses and Certifications
  • Radiography (R ) - Required Upon Hire
  • Computed Tomography (CT) - Required Upon Hire
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) - Required Upon Hire
Travel Requirements
  • Must be able to travel between various system facilities and off-site locations as needed. - Required
Essential Technical/Motor Skills
  • Inputting data, calibrating equipment, answering telephone, speaking clearly, manipulating small items, fine motor skills, knowledge of body mechanics and CPR.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
Interpersonal Skills
  • Effective communication skills and ability to interact with patients, staff, visitors, physicians, etc.
  • Must work well as a team member.

  • Walking, pushing, pulling, heavy lifting, restraining, standing, kneeling, moving equipment, speaking.
Essential Mental Abilities
  • Manipulate numbers, interpret data, explain, and assess, adaptability, reading, and organizational skills.

  • Visual skills, hearing and speaking.
Exposure to Hazards
  • Radiation, body fluids, needle sticks, hazardous material.
Other Skills And Abilities
  • Caregivers must demonstrate and maintain current knowledge and skill in providing appropriate care for patients in all age groups.
