Job summary

South Shore Health is seeking a CT Technologist for the Weymouth, MA imaging team. The role involves operating the CT scanner, preparing patients, administering contrast, and coordinating with radiologists to obtain quality diagnostic images.

Offers a $10,000 sign-on bonus for full-time staff, new competitive pay rates, and flexible shift options including evenings with no required call. Training and growth opportunities exist within a Level II trauma center network.

Qualifications

• Formal training in Radiology Technology from AMA approved program.
• Minimum of three to four (3-4) years Radiologic experience and special procedures experience preferred.
• One year exposure or training in CT to be proficient.
• Required License: Computed Tomography (CT) - ARRT, MA Radiation Control Program (Massachusetts)

Responsibilities

• Maintains equipment for proper diagnostic imaging including cleaning and monitoring for issues.
• Sets up and calibrates CT unit per exam standards, checks dose limits.
• Assesses patient conditions and prepares for exams; explains procedures to patients.
• Administers contrast agents and performs IV access using sterile technique.
• Reviews orders with Radiologist to ensure proper exams and timely transport.
• Performs quality controls on images and adheres to safety regulations.
• Leverages knowledge of anatomy to position patients for optimal images.
• Keeps up with new department technologies and hospital-wide initiatives.
• Fosters a culture of safety with patient and staff protection.
