Job summary

Stormont Vail HealthCare, Inc. is seeking a CT Technologist to perform diagnostic computed tomography procedures using a pressure injector and contrast under supervision. You will prepare and position patients, determine exposure factors, and ensure high-quality images for radiologist review.

The role requires ARRT and KSBHA licensure, BLS within 90 days, and 1 year CT experience. Night shifts, full-time, on-site with a focus on safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Radiology staff must possess ARRT certification and KSBHA licensure.
  • CT registry is preferred for advanced CT work.
  • BLS must be obtained within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic CT procedures with contrast under supervision.
  • Position patients and prepare equipment to obtain optimal CT views.
  • Determine exposure factors based on patient size and body region; adjust controls accordingly.
  • Apply radiation protection practices to minimize dose to patient and staff.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot radiologic equipment; arrange repairs as needed.
  • Complete forms, logs, and reports of procedures performed.
  • Explain procedures to reduce patient anxiety and obtain cooperation.
  • Assist radiologists in examinations and image review for quality control.

RequiredWhat you will doPerform diagnostic computed tomography procedures utilizing a pressure injector and administering contrast under supervision.Prepares and positions patient for diagnostic computed tomography procedures. Adjusts immobilization devices to obtain optimum views of specified area of body requested by physician.Determines exposure factors on basis of height, weight, portion of body involved, and degree of penetration required, and adjusts equipment controls to set exposure factors and produce images of proper detail, density, and accuracy.Practices radiation protection techniques to minimize radiation to patient and staff.Performs a variety of technical procedures that will require independent judgement, with ingenuity and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis.Performs routine maintenance, diagnoses malfunctions, and makes minor repairs on radiologic equipment, arranging for repairs as needed.
