Memorial Hermann Health System in Texas is seeking a PRN Computed Tomography Technologist to perform CT scans and provide staffing coverage between The Woodlands OPID and Spring CCC. The role requires 1 year of CT experience (or 2 years radiologic tech with CT), training of 4–6 weeks, and current MRT license (TX) with ARRT-CT or NMTCB CT certification.

Hospital duties include weekend coverage and occasional float to other locations.

Qualifications

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
  • Licenses: BLS/ALS, MRT license (TX), ARRT-CT or NMTCB in CT.
  • Experience: 1 year CT Technologist or 2 years Radiologic Tech with CT experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Performs CT scans, positions patients, and administers contrast as needed.
  • Ensures patient data is entered and maintained accurately.
  • Conducts quality assurance on CT equipment and supports accreditation processes.
  • May assist with weekend coverage and float to other locations as needed.
  • Adheres to Memorial Hermann policies, safety standards, and time/supply management.

This person is needed to work on a PRN basis between the Woodlands OPID (9200 Pinecroft Dr, Suite 100, The Woodlands, TX 77380) & the Spring Convenient Care Center (7474 N Grand Parkway W, Spring, TX 77379) to help fill in when staff are out on PTO.

10 or 12-hour day shifts at The Woodlands OPID

12-hour days or nights at the Spring CCC (helps support ER)

Available to work at least 6 shifts in a 6 week schedule

Minimum 1 Year Of CT Tech Experience

4-6 week training depending on availability

This position performs Computed Tomography (CT) scans to create cross-sectional images of tissues and internal organs, to be used by physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of patients.

Education: Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology

Licenses/Certifications
  • Certified in Basic or Advanced Life Support, required.
  • Current license or temporary license by the Texas Medical Board (MRT), required; and
  • Registered CT Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-CT) or
  • Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB(CT)) in computed tomography or

One of the following along with documented training on the provision of diagnostic CT exams:

  • Registered Radiology Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-R) or
  • Registered Nuclear Medicine Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-N) or
  • Certified by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB).
Experience / Knowledge / Skills
  • Minimum of one year of experience as a Computed Tomography Technologist or two years of experience as a Radiological Technologist with CT education or experience, preferred.
  • Ability to lift and/or maneuver patients in conjunction with others in order to perform job functions.
Principal Accountabilities
  • Performs CT scans on patients: Prepares patients for CT scan, explains procedure, administers contrast when necessary, positions patients for the CT scan, selects appropriate imaging techniques, and ensures technical quality of the scan.
  • Enters and monitors patient data.
  • Performs quality assurance on CT equipment. May assist with initial and renewal application for ACR and other accreditation.
  • May assist with initial and renewal application for ACR and other accreditation.
  • Identifies and reports any accidents, complaints or equipment malfunction to department management.
  • Takes emergency call within the department. May be required to work weekends and float to other locations as needed.
  • Ensures safe care to patients, staff and visitors; adheres to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity and quality of service.
  • Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education and skills competency; supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as preceptor, mentor and resource to less experienced staff.
