Job summary

CommonSpirit Health’s CHI Williston Health is seeking a CT Technologist to capture diagnostic CT images and support radiologists in accurate diagnoses. You will perform CT exams, ensure proper positioning, exposure, and shielding, and maintain patient comfort throughout the imaging process.

In this role you will use CR readers, PACS, and image manipulation tools; manage studies, burn CDs, and keep the department organized while delivering compassionate care in a busy Critical Access Hospital

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited college or technical school for Radiologic Technology.
  • Registered Technologist Computed Tomography within 24 months and ARRT Radiography upon hire.
  • ND Medical Radiographer license upon hire and CPR within 30 days.
  • Registered Technologist Radiography ARRT upon hire.

Responsibilities

  • Able to perform all CT exams within scope of practice and obtain quality radiographs with proper exposure and shielding.
  • Educates patient regarding the ordered test and prepares them for the procedure.
  • Use CR reader, erase CR cassettes, send images, and perform image manipulation as necessary.
  • Access PACS, review studies, perform basic image manipulations, and resolve QA issues.
  • Record care information concisely and accurately, and maintain department organization.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our CT Technologist, you will utilize your expertise to capture precise diagnostic images, enabling our Radiologists to accurately diagnose and/or rule out diverse medical conditions.

Every day, you will adeptly create detailed cross-sectional images of the skeleton, tissues, and internal organs. Your compassionate interaction and skill in patient care will be crucial, as you play a significant role in fostering a positive and comforting patient experience throughout the imaging process.

To be successful in this role, you will deeply understand the critical importance of diagnostic imaging. This includes a comprehensive knowledge of general imaging workflow, various patient positioning techniques, and the ability to consistently capture clear results essential for timely and accurate diagnoses that guide effective patient care.

  • Able to perform all CT exams within scope of practice, capable of obtaining quality radiographs of all body parts using proper exposure, markers, and shielding, and knows how to use portable x-ray machines and c-arms
  • Instructs and educates patient regarding the ordered test and prepares the patient for the procedure
  • Able to use CR reader, erase CR cassettes, send images from CR reader, and perform image manipulation as necessary
  • Able to access PACS, review studies, and perform basic functions for image manipulations. Resolve QA issues, close studies as reviewed, burn CD’s, transfer images, and print from PACS
  • Records all care information concisely, accurately and completely, in a timely manner, in the appropriate format and on the appropriate forms
  • Maintains order, stock, and cleanliness of all areas in the department
Job Requirements
Required
  • Graduate of an accredited college or technical school for Radiologic Technology and
  • Registered Technologist Computed Tomography, within 24 - months and
  • Medical Radiographer: ND, upon hire and
  • Basic Life Support - CPR, within 30 Days and
  • Registered Technologist Radiography ARRT, upon hire
Preferred
  • Minimum of 12 months of experience as a Radiologic Technologist
  • CT Experience in a Critical Access Hospital
