Job summary

TriStar NorthCrest Medical Center in Springfield, Tennessee is seeking a CT Technologist PRN to perform CT scans and deliver high-quality imaging while providing exceptional patient care.

Responsibilities include following protocols, preparing supplies, starting IVs, communicating with radiologists, and supporting on-call rotations. Qualifications include ARRT with CT, BLS, and graduation from an accredited radiologic technology program.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited school of radiologic technology.
  • Current ARRT certification with advanced CT certification within 6 months.
  • 1 year post-graduate experience preferred but not required.
  • BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform CT exams following protocols and in a timely manner, ensuring a high quality of care.
  • Prepare procedure trays with appropriate supplies.
  • Take patient history and retrieve any necessary orders or prior images.
  • Provide patient history, signs, and symptoms appropriate to the exam to the radiologist.
  • Appropriately complete documentation.
  • Coordinate patient flow and check the daily list to ensure all exams are complete.
  • Support ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) principles.
  • Inform patients about procedures and answer questions.
  • Interact and professionally communicate with physicians, patients, and family members.
  • Start IVs for contrast administration.
  • Use the power injector.
  • Contribute to after-hour coverage through on-call shift rotations.
  • Maintain all licenses, certifications, and accreditations required as outlined in job qualifications.
  • Handle daily upkeep of departmental work areas (cleaning, stocking, etc.).
  • Promote customer service initiatives by adhering to the ICARE values.
  • Support and participate in quality (QI) and performance improvement (PI) plans.
  • Comply with quarterly targeted metrics (i.e., Kronos, HealthStream, PACS, etc.).
  • Demonstrate knowledge of human growth and development, assessment, range of treatment, and care of patients appropriate to the ages of patients served.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education

Graduation from an accredited school of radiologic technology
ARRT certification with advanced CT certification within 6 months
BLS certification

What Qualifications You Will Need

  • Current ARRT certification with advanced registry, or registry eligible with advanced CT certification within 6 months.
  • 1 year post-graduate experience preferred but not required.
  • BLS certification required.
