Job summary

Wellstar Health System in Roswell, GA is seeking a CT Technologist to join the Radiology team on a PRN basis. You will perform CT exams, ensure diagnostic image quality, and deliver compassionate patient care in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Join Wellstar North Fulton Hospital and contribute to a collaborative care team, with emphasis on patient safety, ALARA principles, and ongoing professional growth through Wellstar’s CareerCare program.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• Radiology certification ARRT-R and CT certification ARRT-CT required.
• BLS certification through American Heart Association required.

Responsibilities

• Perform CT procedures according to department guidelines to capture quality diagnostic images.
• Operate imaging equipment safely, using ALARA and adjust techniques for diagnostic quality.
• Clean, disinfect, and maintain rooms and equipment per infection control schedules.
• Verify orders and two unique patient identifiers before exams.
• Explain procedures and post-care using AIDET; address patient questions and anxiety.
• Document studies accurately in RIS/PACS and manage transfers or prior exams as needed.
• Monitor patient condition and assist with emergencies; restock life-support equipment when required.

Required Qualifications

Education

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program

Experience

• Minimum 1 year experience in Radiology Required

Certifications

• ARRT‑R (Radiography)

Core Responsibilities

• Perform CT procedures according to department guidelines, use your technical knowledge to capture quality diagnostic images.
• Work independently operating imaging/radiographic equipment safely and adjusting techniques to maintain diagnostic quality at the lowest reasonable dose (ALARA).
• Clean, disinfect, and maintain rooms/equipment per infection control schedules; identify and report equipment issues promptly.
• Obtain clinical history and screen for contraindications; verify orders and two unique patient identifiers before any exam.
• Explain procedures, prep, and post‑care clearly using AIDET; address questions and reduce patient anxiety.
• Ensure patient comfort, privacy, and safety; provide age‑appropriate care throughout the visit.
• Perform exams and administer contrast per protocol, using venipuncture and sterile technique when applicable.
• Position patients correctly and apply markers, shielding, and immobilization as indicated.
• Review images for diagnostic acceptability; repeat/correct as needed and release patients appropriately.
• Complete accurate, timely documentation and ensure studies are correctly finalized in RIS/PACS (including transfers/retrieval, CDs, and prior exam retrieval as needed).
• Monitor patient condition, respond to emergencies, and help maintain/restock crash cart and life‑support equipment as required.
• Organize daily workflows to meet expected timeframes; collaborate with technologists/modalities to support department flow.
• Support operations and compliance, keep areas orderly and stocked, transport patients safely, complete charging/clerical tasks, follow regulatory requirements, and elevate issues to supervisor.
