Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Health System’s Lodi Hospital is seeking a CT Technologist for PRN shifts. You will produce cross‑sectional CT images, prepare patients, administer contrast within scope, and ensure safety and comfort.

Responsibilities

  • Provide CT imaging and patient care at defined levels for all ages.
  • Prepare and position patients, interpret instructions, and manage contrast media.
  • Ensure patient safety and comfort during procedures.
  • Maintain CT area and QA documentation, operate PACS imaging workflow.
  • Observe equipment functionality and report issues.

As a CT Technologist, you will produce cross-section images of internal organs and tissues for the diagnosis of various medical issues. Utilizing your advanced training and knowledge, you will accurately interpret scanning instructions, administer contrast materials, prepare and operate the equipment and position the patient to capture the appropriate images. This role is critical in the overall treatment of our patients, making you an invaluable asset to the Cleveland Clinic system.

A PRN caregiver in this position works varying days and hours. Availability to work nights from 7:00PM – 7:00AM is needed.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

  • Provide computed tomography imaging and patient care services at defined levels to patients of all ages.

  • Check and prepare patients prior to CT study.

  • Acquire patients chart data/requisition and review both to determine correct room set-up and learn of any specific medical problems and contraindications to the study.

  • Verify that the study being ordered correlates to the diagnostic needs.

  • Assure patient's safety and comfort during procedures.

  • Educate patients regarding procedure, equipment and exam to ensure understanding and cooperation.

  • Prepare and administer contrast media or medications within the accepted scope of practice and applicable state and federal regulations.

  • Perform VNA punctures as necessary.

  • Maintain all aspects of the CT area, including the technical and clerical components, to ensure proper quality assurance results and any required documentation.

  • Acquire, archive, transmit and print images via PACS.

  • Observe potential equipment dysfunctions and report problems to appropriate individuals.

  • Maintain available equipment up-time at the highest level.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology

  • Registered Technologist credentialed by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists R.T.(R) (ARRT) in good standing

  • Computed Tomography (CT) Certification [R.T.(R) (CT) (ARRT)] within one year of hire

  • Current state licensure

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross

  • Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and related pathologic processes

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • One year of experience as a General Radiologic Technologist

Physical Requirements:
  • Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift or assist with lifting patients of varying weight and manipulate equipment daily.
Personal Protective Equipment:
  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
