Job summary

IU Health Fishers Hospital in Fishers, Indiana, is seeking a PRN CT Technologist to join our radiology team. The role supports flexible shifts with some weekday availability to cover coverage needs and has no call or holiday requirements.

The candidate will operate the CT scanner, position patients, administer contrast, monitor safety, and document in the EMR. Requires ARRT/NMTCB credentials, BLS, and Indiana ISDH licensure.

Qualifications

• 0–3 years of relevant experience in CT/ radiology is preferred.
• Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association is required.
• Active registry through ARRT (Radiography RT(R) or Nuclear Medicine RT(NM)) or NMTCB CNMT is required.
• Advanced CT certification through ARRT or NMTCB within 12 months of hire.
• Current Indiana ISDH license as Radiologic Technologist or Nuclear Medicine Technologist.

Responsibilities

• Operates CT scanner and prepares/positions patients for scanning.
• Screens patients for safe scanning and contrast administration; administers contrast as needed.
• Obtains IV access, adjusts scan parameters, and ensures diagnostic images.
• Collaborates with radiologists and physicians; follows radiation safety protocols.
• Performs routine QC on equipment and documents information in EMR.

Job description

This is a PRN CT Technologist opportunity at IU Health Fishers Hospital in Fishers, Indiana.

The PRN schedule offers flexibility, allowing team members to pick up shifts based on their availability. Ideally, candidates will have some weekday availability to help support coverage needs.

No call responsibilities or holiday coverage are required for this position.

Job Duties, Tasks and Qualifications:

Operates CT scanner, prepares and positions patients. Screens patients for safe scanning and safe administration of contrast. Obtains IV access, and administers contrast as required and is familiar with recognizing and responding to adverse contrast events. Possesses knowledge of scan protocols and selection of appropriate protocol to address clinical concerns. Adjusts scan parameters to ensure diagnostic images. Collaborates with radiologists and referring physicians. Follows radiation safety protocols. Performs routine QC on equipment. Stays current with continuing education. Assists in medical alert situations. Communicates effectively with patients, families and members of the care team. Documents necessary information in EMR. Assists with minimally invasive procedures as needed.

• Requires 0-3 years of relevant experience.
• Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) is required.
• Requires ability to maneuver equipment and improvise positions when the condition of the patient does not permit routine positioning.
• Requires active status through one of the following: American Registry of Radiology Technology (ARRT): Registered Technologist - Radiography , RT(R) or Nuclear Medicine, RT(NM); or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB): Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT).
• Requires advanced certification in Computed Tomography (CT) through ARRT or NMTCB within 12 months of hire.
• Requires current Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) license as Radiologic Technologist or Nuclear Medicine Technologist.
• May be required to meet registry/certification requirements for another modality, if applicable.
