Job summary

AdventHealth Winter Garden is seeking a CT Technologist to perform high-quality CT examinations under provider orders, while maintaining ALARA principles and patient safety. You will educate patients, verify history, prepare IV contrast, and collaborate with radiologists.

The role requires ARRT CT and CPR/BLS, Florida CRT, and 1+ year radiology experience. This on-site PRN position offers daily shifts in Florida.

Qualifications

• High School Grad or Equiv required.
• Associate and/or Bachelor’s preferred.
• 1+ years radiology experience preferred.
• Florida CRT required; ARRT RT(R) and RT(CT) credentials preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform CT examinations following provider orders and protocols.
• Ensure image quality and patient safety using ALARA principles.
• Prepare and administer IV contrast; monitor for adverse reactions.
• Maintain accurate documentation in EMR/PACS.
• Collaborate with radiologists and health care team for continuity of care.

Job Description

• Practicing infection control standards and using approved PPE and disinfectant agents.
• Follows department protocols for patient identification, informed consent, and time-out procedures prior to starting exams.
• Maintains accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR) and PACS systems.
• Educates patients about the exam and complete all exams in a timely manner, maintaining workflow and minimizing empty table time.
• Operates all imaging equipment safely and properly, including scanners, injectors, and monitors, adapting protocols for patients of all ages.
• Performs high‑quality CT examinations in accordance with provider orders and departmental protocols, ensuring optimal image quality for accurate diagnosis.
• Reviews patient history and clinical information to confirm exam appropriateness and identify potential contraindications.
• Prepares and administers IV contrast material following safety guidelines and monitors patients for adverse reactions.
• Positions patients accurately and comfortably, using immobilization devices when necessary, while ensuring radiation safety and ALARA principles are maintained.
• Collaborates with radiologists and other healthcare providers to ensure appropriate imaging and continuity of patient care.

Work Experience

• 1+ years experience in radiology and completion of CT training program [Preferred]

Licenses and Certifications

• Registered Technologist – Radiography RT(R)(ARRT)[Required]
• American Registry of Radiologic Technologists - Computed Tomography RT(CT)(ARRT) [Preferred]
• Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
• Florida CRT [Required]

Pay Range

$28.68 - $53.35
