Job description

With five decades of experience, Shepherd Center provides world-class clinical care, research, and family support for people experiencing the most complex conditions, including spinal cord and brain injuries, multi-trauma, traumatic amputations, stroke, multiple sclerosis, and pain. An elite center ranked by **JOB RESPONSIBILITIES -**The CT Technologist Accountabilities are to ensure optimal quality of ordered images while maintaining patient safety. * Reviews and verifies orders before beginning exams.* Reviews the patient’s EMR for safety concerns that could alter the quality of the exam or affect patient care.* Prepares patient and room for exams, explains procedure, transfers patient using proper lifting and transfer techniques, positions patient and assists patient as needed during the exam.* Performs clinical evaluation of all patients and performs exams specifically as stated in the physician’s order.* Observes patient and equipment during procedures and reports any unusual occurrences in relation to patient condition to the Imaging Supervisor.* Delivers all images to PACS and the Radiologist and ensures receipt of exam dictation.* Completes all daily tasks for optimal departmental operation.* Reports departmental concerns to the Imaging Manager.* Attend department staff meetings during scheduled hours.* Manages inventory of supplies.* Maintains all center-wide requirements such as yearly ARW’s, BLS, up to date certification status with the ACR and other requirements that may be mandatory in the XRAY and CT departments.**REQUIRED MINIMUM EDUCATION** * Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required.* Current registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or equivalent.* Must be a Registered CT Technologist**REQUIRED MINIMUM EXPERIENCE** **REQUIRED MINIMUM SKILLS** - Ability to Work Independently- Ability to Prioritize and problem solve**KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & ABILITIES EXAMPLES** - Experience in a hospital setting.- Excellent communication and Organizational Skills.- Strong organizational, customer service, and teamwork skills- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills**PREFERRED****QUALIFICATIONS** - Three (3) plus years' experience preferred* Uses body, tools, or special devices to safely, effectively, and efficiently to move, guide, or place patients.
