Job summary

Riverside Medical Clinic, part of Universal Health Services (UHS), seeks a CT Technologist to perform CT procedures, ensure patient safety, and operate Siemens CT equipment. The role requires ARRT/CRT certification and BLS, with at least one year of hospital experience.

Hours are 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with the opportunity for professional development within UHS. Join a team dedicated to quality healthcare and patient-centered service.

Qualifications

  • One-year hospital or clinical experience.
  • Experience with all age groups (neonatal to geriatric).
  • Proficiency with Siemens CT equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine CT procedures including startup, scans, and exam processing.
  • Monitor patient safety and interview patient prior to CT exam.
  • Ensure CT equipment is safe and maintained; report issues to Radiology Director.
  • Position and transfer patients to/from the exam table.
  • Explain CT procedures to patients and ensure comfort on the scanner.
  • Operate radiographic equipment to obtain diagnostic images.
  • Maintain accurate procedure records in the logbook.
  • Keep CT area clean and stocked; notify shortages.
  • Adhere to universal precautions and infection control practices.
  • Develop x-ray films using automatic equipment.
  • Support teaching and in-service education as needed.

Summary: Performs a variety of Computed Tomography (CT) procedures for the diagnosis of disease; provides appropriate care and service to patients of all age specific group. CT Technologist exercises independence ingenuity and initiative while performing the exam. Assume responsibility for the preparation, monitoring, care, and safety of the patient.

Essential Functions

Essential functions are those tasks, duties and responsibilities that comprise the means of accomplishing the job’s purpose and objectives. Essential functions are critical or fundamental to the performance of the job. They are the major functions for which the person in the job is held accountable. Note: (other duties may be assigned, deleted or changed at any time, at the discretion of management, formally, or informally, either verbally or in writing).

  1. Perform all routine aspect of CT procedures including start up procedures, test scans. Programs selection, media injections, filming and exam processing.
  2. Effectively monitor patient safety at all times. Interview patient prior to the CT exam. Potential problems are discussed with radiologist if necessary.
  3. Monitor equipment to ensure the CT environment is safe and all systems are in proper working order. Report any potential or actual problems to the Director of Radiology in a timely manner.
  4. Perform tasks such as lifting, positioning, and transferring patients on/off exam table.
  5. Accurately explains the CT procedure to the patients ensures patient comfort while on the scanner, assures positioning of the patient and successful completion of the exam or the radiologist protocol. Work closely with the CT radiologist taking suggestions, changes, additions or corrections to procedures by CT radiologists.
  6. Operates complex radiographic equipment for purposes of obtaining standard diagnostic x-rays, positions patients utilizing various immobilization devices such as sponges and sand bags are required, selects proper technical factors.
  7. Completes standard consultation form and maintains accurate records of all procedures in logbook.
  8. Cleans and maintains orderliness in assigned area; maintains adequate supplies. Notifies Director of Radiology of any shortage.
  9. Adheres to appropriate universal precautionary measures as outlined in the infection IIP program.
  10. Develops x-ray films utilizing automatic equipment.
  11. May participate in formal teaching programs and in-service education classes as required.
  12. Performs other related duties as required such as orienting new personnel to department procedures.

Qualifications
Education and/or Experience

One-year experience in a Hospital or clinical environment. Previous training involving all age groups, neonatal, pediatric, adult and geriatric. Skilled in Siemens CT equipment, 16 and 64 slice.

Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations

ARRT/CRT in X-RAY and CT. and current AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professional (AHA BLS Healthcare) - American Heart Association certification required.
