Job summary

Cedars-Sinai Medical Network invites a CT Technologist to perform Computed Tomography procedures with emphasis on patient safety and optimal image quality. You will verify data, prepare equipment, educate patients, and ensure comfort during scans in a fast-paced clinical setting.

The role requires ARRT/CRT licensure, BLS, and Radiologic Technology training, with potential to rotate across imaging modalities within Cedars-Sinai’s network in Southern California.

Qualifications

• Completion of Radiologic Technology program approved by ARRT.
• BLS certification required by a recognized body.
• Imaging certification with ARRT/ARMRIT/ARDMS preferred or required.
• CA CRT license required for Radiologic Technologists in CA.
• Fluoroscopy license required.
• Minimum 1 year experience in relevant modality.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and checks patients prior to CT procedures.
• Verifies patient data and contra-indications for CT imaging.
• Performs CT procedures per protocol with QA of images.
• Educates patients about CT procedures and equipment.
• Maintains patient comfort and safety during and after exams.
• May assist with scheduling and post-exam paperwork.
• Operates PACS; handles image transmission and archiving.
• Rotates through imaging modalities or sites as needed.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepares and checks patients prior to CT procedure.


• Acquires patient questionnaire, chart, data/requisition and reviews all to determine contraindication of having CT examination.


• Verifies and validates patient screening safety form. Performs CT procedures required per protocol and performs daily QA.


• Performs VNA punctures and maintains competencies.


• Educates patients regarding CT procedures, equipment and exam.


• Ensures patients' comfort and safety during and after the exam.


• May assist with scheduling of patients as needed.


• Administers proper contrast related to patient having CT exam.


• Acquires, archives, transmits and prints images via PACS. When applicable, completes after hours transmission of images and appropriate paperwork.


• Performs Daily and Monthly CT QC.


• Immediately reports any malfunctions; observes potential equipment dysfunctions and reports problems or calls for service.


• Maintains available equipment up-time at the highest level for patient accessibility.


• Learns new technical information and skills.


• May be required to rotate through all imaging modalities, sites, and/or locations.


• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education:

• Completion of course in Radiologic technology approved by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists required

Licenses/Certifications:

• BLS certification from the American Heart Association and/or the American Red Cross required


• Imaging Registered Rad Tech certification with relevant accrediting body (ARRT, ARMRIT, ARDMS) required


• Imaging CA Radiologic Tech Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT)- CA State License. required


• Fluoroscopy License required

Work Experience:

• 1 year minimum one year experience in each relevant modality required
