Job summary

AdventHealth in Orlando, FL seeks a CT Technologist to perform CT examinations with attention to image quality and patient safety. You will review patient history, prepare and administer IV contrast, and collaborate with radiologists to ensure accurate diagnoses.

Full-time daytime shifts are available. A minimum of 1 year radiology experience and ARRT credentialing are required, along with BLS certification and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in radiology (Required).
• Experience performing CT examinations and operating imaging equipment.
• Ability to review patient history and ensure exam appropriateness.

Responsibilities

• Performs high-quality CT examinations per orders and protocols.
• Reviews patient history to confirm exam necessity and checks for contraindications.
• Positions patients and administers IV contrast following safety guidelines.

Job Description

Sign-on Eligibility

Shift Options Available (Weekend Program)

• Role 1: Friday at Ocoee ED, 7:00 PM-7:00 AM; Saturday-Sunday at Millenia, 7:00 PM-7:00 AM.
• Role 2: Monday at Millenia, 10:00 AM-10:00 PM; Tuesday at Ocoee, 7:00 AM-7:00 PM; Wednesday at Millenia, 10:00 AM-10:00 PM.
• Role 3: Thursday at Millenia, 10:00 AM-10:00 PM; Saturday-Sunday at Ocoee, 7:00 PM-7:00 AM.
• Role 4: Friday-Saturday at Millenia, 7:00 AM-7:00 PM; Sunday at Ocoee, 7:00 AM-7:00 PM.

Schedule: Three 12-hour shifts per week. Weekend positions available across Ocoee, Millenia, and Winter Garden.

Responsibilities

• Performs high-quality CT examinations in accordance with provider orders and departmental protocols, ensuring optimal image quality for accurate diagnosis.
• Reviews patient history and clinical information to confirm exam appropriateness and identify potential contraindications. Prepares and administers IV contrast material following safety guidelines and monitors patients for adverse reactions.
• Positions patients accurately and comfortably, using immobilization devices when necessary, while ensuring radiation safety and ALARA principles are maintained.
• Collaborates with radiologists and other healthcare providers to ensure appropriate imaging and continuity of patient care.
• Maintains accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR) and PACS systems.
• Educates patients about the exam and complete all exams in a timely manner, maintaining workflow and minimizing empty table time.
• Operates all imaging equipment safely and properly, including scanners, injectors, and monitors, adapting protocols for patients of all ages.
• Practicing infection control standards and using approved PPE and disinfectant agents.
• Follows department protocols for patient identification, informed consent, and time-out procedures prior to starting exams.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• 1+ years of experience in radiology [Required]

Additional Information

Completion of a CT training program OR active enrollment in an approved AdventHealth Workforce Development CT training program. [Preferred]
