Job summary

Wellstar North Fulton Hospital in Roswell, GA seeks a CT Technologist to perform CT procedures, ensure imaging quality, and provide a reassuring patient experience.

Responsibilities include managing dose with ALARA, using AIDET for patient communication, preparing contrast, and maintaining equipment and documentation in RIS/PACS. Requires ARRT credentials (Radiography and CT), BLS, and 1 year radiology experience. Full-time with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• Experience: Minimum 1 year in Radiology needed.
• Certifications: ARRT-R (Radiography); ARRT-CT; BLS (American Heart Association).

Responsibilities

• Perform CT procedures according to department guidelines and capture quality diagnostic images.
• Operate imaging/radiographic equipment safely and maintain diagnostic quality at the lowest reasonable dose (ALARA).
• Maintain rooms/equipment per infection control schedules and report issues promptly.
• Obtain clinical history, screen contraindications, verify orders and two patient identifiers before exams.
• Explain procedures, prep, and post-care using AIDET to address questions and reduce anxiety.
• Ensure patient comfort, privacy and safety during the visit and provide age-appropriate care.
• Perform exams and administer contrast per protocol using venipuncture and sterile technique.
• Position patients correctly and apply markers, shielding and immobilization as indicated.
• Review images for diagnostic acceptability and repeat/correct as needed; finalize studies in RIS/PACS.
• Monitor patient condition, respond to emergencies, restock crash cart and life-support equipment as required.
• Organize daily workflows to meet timeframes and support department flow.

• Work independently operating imaging/radiographic equipment safely and adjusting techniques to maintain diagnostic quality at the lowest reasonable dose (ALARA).
• Clean, disinfect, and maintain rooms/equipment per infection control schedules; identify and report equipment issues promptly.
• Obtain clinical history and screen for contraindications; verify orders and two unique patient identifiers before any exam.
• Explain procedures, prep, and post-care clearly using AIDET; address questions and reduce patient anxiety.
• Ensure patient comfort, privacy, and safety; provide age-appropriate care throughout the visit.
• Perform exams and administer contrast per protocol, using venipuncture and sterile technique when applicable.
• Position patients correctly and apply markers, shielding, and immobilization as indicated.
• Review images for diagnostic acceptability; repeat/correct as needed and release patients appropriately.
• Complete accurate, timely documentation and ensure studies are correctly finalized in RIS/PACS (including transfers/retrieval, CDs, and prior exam retrieval as needed).
• Monitor patient condition, respond to emergencies, and help maintain/restock crash cart and life-support equipment as required.
• Organize daily workflows to meet expected timeframes; collaborate with technologists/modalities to support department flow.
• Support operations and compliance, keep areas orderly and stocked, transport patients safely, complete charging/clerical tasks, follow regulatory requirements, and elevate issues to the supervisor.
