Job summary

Wellstar North Fulton Hospital in Roswell, Georgia, is seeking a CT Technologist to join our imaging team. This vital role focuses on delivering high-quality imaging and compassionate patient care in a busy radiology department.

You will perform CT procedures, ensure diagnostic-quality images, and uphold infection control standards. The position requires ARRT credentials and at least 1 year of radiology experience, with a supportive work culture and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent or completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• Experience: Minimum 1 year experience in Radiology
• Certifications: ARRT-R (Radiography).
• Certifications: ARRT-CT – ARRT Computed Tomography.
• Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) – American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Perform CT procedures per department guidelines and obtain quality diagnostic images.
• Operate imaging equipment safely, maintaining the lowest reasonable dose (ALARA).
• Clean, disinfect and maintain rooms/equipment per infection control schedules.
• Obtain clinical history, verify orders and patient IDs before exams.
• Explain procedures and prep to patients using AIDET; address questions.
• Ensure patient comfort, privacy and safety throughout the visit.
• Administer contrast as protocol; perform venipuncture if applicable.
• Position patients, apply markers, shielding and immobilization as needed.
• Review images for diagnostic acceptability and adjust as required.
• Complete documentation in RIS/PACS and manage transfers/retrievals.
• Monitor patient condition and respond to emergencies; restock as needed.
• Organize daily workflows and support department operations.
• Maintain compliance and elevate issues to supervisor when necessary.

Core Responsibilities

• Perform CT procedures according to department guidelines, use your technical knowledge to capture quality diagnostic images.
• Work independently operating imaging/radiographic equipment safely and adjusting techniques to maintain diagnostic quality at the lowest reasonable dose (ALARA).
• Clean, disinfect, and maintain rooms/equipment per infection control schedules; identify and report equipment issues promptly.
• Obtain clinical history and screen for contraindications; verify orders and two unique patient identifiers before any exam.
• Explain procedures, prep, and post-care clearly using AIDET; address questions and reduce patient anxiety.
• Ensure patient comfort, privacy, and safety; provide age-appropriate care throughout the visit.
• Perform exams and administer contrast per protocol, using venipuncture and sterile technique when applicable.
• Position patients correctly and apply markers, shielding, and immobilization as indicated.
• Review images for diagnostic acceptability; repeat/correct as needed and release patients appropriately.
• Complete accurate, timely documentation and ensure studies are correctly finalized in RIS/PACS (including transfers/retrieval, CDs, and prior exam retrieval as needed).
• Monitor patient condition, respond to emergencies, and help maintain/restock crash cart and life-support equipment as required.
• Organize daily workflows to meet expected timeframes; collaborate with technologists/modalities to support department flow.
• Support operations and compliance, keep areas orderly and stocked, transport patients safely, complete charging/clerical tasks, follow regulatory requirements, and elevate issues to the supervisor.
