Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a CT Technologist (Float) to support Nashoba Valley, Marlborough and Groton locations. Under supervision, you will perform CT exams with contrast, gather clinical data and ensure accurate records, and operate within department policies.

You will work with Radiologists to provide timely imaging, complete documentation, and participate in daily staffing coverage across sites. Travel between Marlborough and Nashoba/Groton may be required; ARRT CT certification and

• Licensed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

Responsibilities

• Perform CT scan examinations appropriate to patient age in inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Gather pertinent clinical data and maintain accurate patient records.
• Complete records, paperwork and billings accurately and promptly.
• Position and transfer patients and assist physicians with interventional exams.
• QC images and send exams to PACS for physician review.
• Assist in inventory and procurement of supplies.
• Perform CT exams with contrast media under radiologist/ER physician direction.
• Establish IV access for contrast injection as required.

Performs independently within scope of department policies. Clinically works at the direction of a qualified Radiologist.**I. Major Responsibilities:**1. Properly performs all CT scan examinations appropriate to the age of the patient in inpatient and/or outpatient settings, consistent with departmental and professional standards and protocols.2. Gathers pertinent clinical data and maintains accurate patient records.3. Accurately completes all records, paperwork and billings and submits promptly.4. Positions and transfers patients appropriately and assists physicians with interventional exams.5. Promptly and properly completes exams, performs QC on images and appropriately sends exams to PACS for the physicians to review.6. Assists in maintaining an orderly inventory and in arranging the purchase of needed supplies.7. Assists with other job-related duties including urgent exam requests and scheduling.8. Under the direction of a Radiologist or Emergency Room Physician, performs CT exams using contrast media according to department policy and procedures.9. Will establish IV access for contrast injection according to department policy and procedure.**Standard Staffing Level Responsibilities:**1.
